PSIO alternative ?

is posible to emulate cdrom drive via arduino or raspberry Pi ?

$115 USD is expensive to you for such an amazing product? No, you can't emulate the CD-ROM via an Arduino or Pi. lol.

Arduino isnt powerfull enough, RaspberryPi probably neither. especialy the IO output. Maybe if you take the ALTERA Cyclone 3 FPGA and add it to your RaspberryPi you might be able to put out the right IO with speed and accuracy. but basicly youll be reworking the PSIO and the price

Raspberry can do 22Mhz in C. not sure if you can get Audio and Data out that fast tho. your basicly reinventing a wheel here.
(I dont own a PSIO and I am not affiliated with the makers of it. If I would want to make such device, I would either just buy a PSIO (preorder) or ... try it myself with an fpga.. price...)
