I think the PU-8 early board should be found in the lower serial numbers from SCPH-1001 NTSC U/C consoles, like your serial 5663034 right?
Those who have this consoles with serial starting with 5 or 6 could know it for sure.

Is it possible determine the motherboard version by model + serial number when is not possible open the console?
Ex.: SCPH-1001 with serial number starting with 8, I found PU-8, 1-658-467 ending -23 and serial starting with 7, I found board revision ending -22.
