A difference of opinion on NO$PSX....

Post by Vergil » October 22nd, 2023, 12:21 pm

I love these forums, and emulators...but I hate to be the one who brings up this, on THIS PARTICULAR emulator forum. But
in my opinion, NO$PSX sucks :shrug . I feel like it's too buggy of an emulator for simple PS1 titles and ISOs. I'd go so far as to say that BLEEM! is a better emulator than NO$PSX. My favorite emulator, that has not failed me.....is none other than ePSXe. I mean, it doesn't have an area where you can steal textures, but, it's been my favorite for a while. And surprisingly its better than the somewhat goofy emulation of the PSX Classic.

Uhm, BLEEM! was last updated 22 years ago and lacks a lot of the correct PSX core emulation. It is not a better emulator than NO$PSX.
Development Console: SCPH-5502 with 8MB RAM, MM3 Modchip, PAL 60 Colour Modification (for NTSC), PSIO Switch Board, DB-9 breakout headers for both RGB and Serial output and an Xplorer with CAETLA 0.34.

PlayStation Development PC: Windows 98 SE, Pentium 3 at 400MHz, 128MB SDRAM, DTL-H2000, DTL-H2010, DTL-H201A, DTL-S2020 (with 4GB SCSI-2 HDD), 21" Sony G420, CD-R burner, 3.25" and 5.25" Floppy Diskette Drives, ZIP 100 Diskette Drive and an IBM Model M keyboard.

I have literally just joined, mostly to say thankyou for NO$PSX Emulator. No it isnt perfect and mostly I use DuckStation (without enhancements!) but I find it useful, and HOPEFULLY will be finding it even more useful in the future.
Thanks again.
