Syphon Filter 1/2/3 PSF request

Post by 47iscool » September 14th, 2023, 5:41 pm

I was wondering in anyone was still making PSF's and could make a set for each of these games. These games have some really good music for an American game series.

Is it possible to change your Question?

I don't understand what you want at all ;)

What's about the music? And yes, the sound in the 3 Games are genius.

Especially in the 3rd Part. I still love it so much. :dance

Basically he's asking for this. ;)

While i'm not taking any PSF request, i do have all 3 games ripped since a while but left them untimed so far.
Anyway, here they are in both PSF/Minipsf flavor:
Syphon Filter (USA)
Syphon Filter 2 (USA)
Syphon Filter 3 (USA)

Enjoy. 8-)

Thank you so much for uploading them!

(I also asked years ago at the hcs64 forum as well, but to no avail.)

@inc^lightforce

I prefer the music from the first two games. Especially the first one.

The music from the third game seems odd to me. Quite different and I am not a fan of the style of it, though it is still good to have the whole set. The series went really bad on the PS2.

Edit: @Squaresoft74 I noticed these aren't uploaded on hcs/joshw. Have you thought about uploading them there for backup purposes?
Also SF2 and SF3 PSF's won't play on Droidsound-E for Android. The HE plugin doesn't have the harsh compatibility mode. But it works just fine with the external plugins for viopsf in foobar2000.

Edit: It does work on the newest Droidsound-E, which has the Harsh option for the HE plugin but it doesn't support 32-bit Android anymore. I tested it on my Android 10 Tablet. The sad thing is that I prefer my older Android because it has superior audio output and I use it mostly as a music player.

Thank you for doing theses, I am having the same issues with SF2, As the first one plays fine in Winamp while the other two games are not playing. Even if i put them in PSF or MiniPSF. It plays just fine in foobar though.

Likely it could be the sound driver that causing this in SF2 and SF3.

Regardless thank you for dedicating your time with theses.

I will upload them there at some point.
For SF1 i need to complete timing and release notes.

In their current state they play just fine on real hardware and more modern emulators/players.
I would need put more work into their drivers so they don't need harsh compatibility mode anymore with HE based plugin.

I just don't have free time nor motivation to dedicate for now, sorry. :shrug

Hey there no worries, I was thinking of making my own PSFs for my media player. I don't know if you have the raw sequence files and etc for them. Unless they need a special driver to be playable.

They do.
Sequences and samples bank headers are custom format so they need their dedicated driver to play.
You can't just use a generic seq/vab driver to make PSF from these games.
