help with raised pin on pu-23
Hello everyone, I was trying to solder the modchip to my pu-23 model and the pin that goes to pin 5 of the cxd2938q (pin 5 wfck) came up due to excess heat, is there a jumper I can make to solve the problem? The PS1 now doesn't give me video or sound. I attach a photo

That's not a "pin", it's called "test point", and it isn't needed, and everything should work fine without it. If you want to wire a modchip to that signal, that signal is called WFCK, and there are lots of options for doing that:
Scratch off the solder-stop on the PCB wire, use a multimeter to check where else it does connect to, look at the SCPH-5500 schematics (or what console you have?),or search for "WFCK" in psxspx.htm.
Next time chose a more robust soldering point. Most robust are vias (with solder-stop scratched off). If that isn't possible, take a __/\__ shaped wire (like a resistor leg), solder the two ends of that wire to GND, slide your modchip wire underneath the __/\__ and solder the wire to wherever you want, wait until everything has cooled down, then bend down the __/\__.
Either way, I don't understand how the WFCK could affect audio/video. A non-working modchip might affect disc booting, but affecting audio/video seem unlikely.

Thanks for the response, if pin 5 was not damaged due to being without the test point, could it be the modchip that damaged the video? A modchip normally can't damage anything. I'd rather assume that you did have (or still have) produced a shortcut somewhere, wihich is 99% harmless and easy to fix, unless you had shortcut power supply signals. I guees the yellow diamond screen should come up even without cdrom drive attached. At the very least you should get a valid blackscreen on the AV output (as opposed to something like a No Signal bluescreen).
