hifi ps1 with screen selector

Post by gazthon_01 » March 31st, 2021, 10:32 pm

Hi,

I'm new in the forum and I want to turn my ps1 into a hifi audio player

I am looking for a way to see the name of the tracks of cd.

The idea is to get an arduino or some microcontroller to read the data and then pass it to a tft screen or similar.

Image

Thanks in advance.

Best place to start is to write a cd player application.

You can then use the serial port of the playstation to interface to an Arduino that can control the playback and show the time/functions on tft

Type 79 already did this project 8 years ago. I remember it.

His website is dead now and the videos in his worklog are not working, but here is his YouTube channel where you can still find the videos. There are several videos to watch.
