Quick question about str's
Quick question about str's
Could you make the psx play a single str video from a burned cd? Im translating some fmv's and would like to see them on the console to make sure i didn't mess with any details.

Yeah, you can. Just use the Sony example code in Psy-Q to point to your directory on your game disc and play it. You'll have to setup some parameters though (frame size, end of video frame, etc), but it will play for you. Another option is to use a Game Shark or fake Action Replay since they have sometimes a "MOVIE CD PLAYER" option in them.
Development Console: SCPH-5502 with 8MB RAM, MM3 Modchip, PAL 60 Colour Modification (for NTSC), PSIO Switch Board, DB-9 breakout headers for both RGB and Serial output and an Xplorer with CAETLA 0.34.
PlayStation Development PC: Windows 98 SE, Pentium 3 at 400MHz, 128MB SDRAM, DTL-H2000, DTL-H2010, DTL-H201A, DTL-S2020 (with 4GB SCSI-2 HDD), 21" Sony G420, CD-R burner, 3.25" and 5.25" Floppy Diskette Drives, ZIP 100 Diskette Drive and an IBM Model M keyboard.

So far ive been using this http://www.psxdev.net/forum/viewtopic.p ... 3e2173a1f7 to get it working and its very frustrating.Shadow wrote: ↑July 22nd, 2018, 12:25 pm Yeah, you can.
