Re: SPASM Assembler

Myself and others still use it occasionally. It has a few cranky little bugs but one or two things were written in spasm and it's standalone and tiny in a way that gcc/psyq just isn't :p

Re: UniROM V6 - New stuff and things.

"Fastboot" is the piece of text that says "Fastboot" :p (Below the R2 option. It has a little more info) You might have some luck finding the original ROM here: http://xianaix.net/museum.htm XFlash (if it can recognise the chip) will say how much space you have, just compare it to the file you downl...

Re: UniROM V6 - New stuff and things.

That's a bit of a bugger, huh :-Solid advice from likeabaus there (maplin still sell verbatim CDRs in the UK btw, failing that Tesco brand work crazy well). -I've tested everything on 1002->5552 models too, so that shouldn't be a problem. There must be something else at play here - maybe something G...

Re: PSX Thingy

I get the software side of things, but I've never really looked into the hardware. Does it need much glue logic or anything? Or does each pin on the p.port just kinda map to the EEPROM? Like the XPlorer FX has 512k, 384k of which is actually wired to the PSX, and PSIO has 32k or something can you ge...

Re: Question regarding "shaders" on Psx ( TR2 )

I think gwald's onto something here. I just tested on actual hardware. Here's the VRAM as it is normally: http://i.imgur.com/s6P0RDs.jpg To the left we see both frames in the VRAM... Essentially one is drawn while the other is being created, then it's 'flipped' and the process continues (Double buff...

@vxbinaca Aaah, I knew that games as Kurushi! Can you post the exact .ISO somewhere and I'll take a wee look at it? @danhans42 Cool, glad to know it works! At least all the menu shortcuts and stuff work behind the intro, hahah :p (P.s. wrong forum but I had a look for a 5552 psx for you the other da...

Re: UniROM V6 - New stuff and things.

Neat , thanks for the update Sicklebrick ! :D Thank you for the XPlorer ROM compilation :D ...emulator?... Weird, I thought no$psx's debugger version had this option but it doesn't seem like it. Maybe undocumented. That would be pretty damn useful. If you have a parallel port though you could use X...

Re: UniROM 0.44 - Bugfixes, woo!

...which install... Okie, so if you have a 256kb cart or higher, then the UniROM+Caetla option might be best as Caetla can handle the raw codes. If your game hunter is 128k though, then it's one or the other. ...which games... Now there's a question. I've honestly hardly tested this or used it to b...

Re: WTB: Playstatipn SCPH-5552 UK

Weird, 5552 is prettymuch the only model I find up here. The ones I have left are either broken or modified (e.g. arduino screwed into the lid or missing laser) but will give you a shout if/when I see another.

Re: Force NTSC output mod?

Yeah, there are modchips that handle that automagically. (Well it's more like a tiny board with a crystal on it for timing). I have the opposite which splits out a PAL60 signal when it detects NTSC - pretty useful. Failing that I guess the opposite of the NPAL convertors might be useful with them be...

Re: UniROM 0.44 - Bugfixes, woo!

things Hah wow, SOTN lead me on some wild goose chase... I dunno what it is about this game in particular, caetla wouldn't boot it reliably, my code wouldn't boot it at all and launching the .EXE directly and would sometimes crash on a blank screen and always at the loading screen. I haven't really...

Re: UniROM 0.44 - Bugfixes, woo!

Stuff doesn't boot. The boot code's just not very good. :D Tbh it wasn't really for playing games, and boots any homebrew I've thrown at it ... but it is distressing to know that SOTN doesn't play :\ Good news though, I've been doing a bit of poking and prodding around in the BIOS and I've had a fe...

Re: Strange Game Hunter cartridge

To clarify what likeabaus says, you could burn a copy of Zippy/Ahoy (caetla 0.34 with auto cd stop) onto an XFlash CD or burn unirom onto one ( caetla + launch backups without swapping, like freemcboot ) onto a CD. You'd only have to do the hard-swap once...to get the firmware flashed onto the cart....

Re: Cheat file for Caetla/Xplorer/etc

Heh no worries. Pretty sure .38 can upgrade from the MC, but maybe another member can confirm? Not really sure how the icon is handled or what format it uses, but there are tons of PSX memory card programs out there for changing names, values, icons, etc. maybe you'll find something that can do it a...

(I noticed system .CNF seems to appear at LBA 34 when opening .ISOs for extraction wasn't really sure if it made much difference other than for seek times.)
