Re: PS1CardLink (WIP)

Could I please try the beta? I have a GT2 save I could really do with backing up and don't want to have to set up my desktop just to plug in an xplorer. Cheers

Re: PSX Serial Cable

Just a quick update. Sold a few of these now and they work very well. They are currently priced at 13.50UKP including postage to most of Europe. I have a prototype siocons cable which looks the same as above but works very well with the yaroze environment in dosbox. These will be available from next...

Re: [Hardware Mod] 8MB in (PU-18) Retail PSX

The person I have on alibaba is getting back to me with a price for 24. Looking around £40 ish delivered.

So when I get them I'll see about selling on the leftovers if anyone else wants any?

EDIT: 24 units ordered. Hopefully should be here in a week or two.

Re: [Hardware Mod] 8MB in (PU-18) Retail PSX

@Trimesh - Cheers, I have since found a company via Alibaba called Winsource that have them @$1.87ea plus $20 for freight shipping to UK.

@Amidog - Not sure, I wonder if the difference between the 00 and 04 is in the model number.

Great work TriMesh, can you recommend a good source for the RAM chips? Only place I can find is in the USA at they have a $200 minimum order.

Re: MSX Emulator for Playstation

I remember trying this year's ago, don't think there is sound.

There us a simple tool that comes with it to convert a mix ROM to a H file. You then compile it with the yaroze SDK.

To use it on a grey psx or emulator use HITMENS combine to combine it with libps.

I know, but look at the CPU the pads use SIO channel 1 which is indeed SPI like,

Re: I mode cable/software

looks like the game I have has anti-mod protection.. bollocks.

I will have to open my never used SCPH-1002 and disk swap as I havent as yet figured out how to write what the hell I like to the memory card/joypad SIO port.

Re: PSX Serial Cable

The above solution does not work with SIOCONS, as it is not wired for handshaking. I intend to make one for SIOCONS which would be more expensive as I would need to either.. a) retrofit the RTS/CTS and DTR/DSR pins to the above and add 7400 series to invert handshaking, more time and would involve d...

PSX Serial Cable

I have a quantity of PSX link cables that I recently acquired and wondered if any users would like to purchase a pre-made USB cable for use with PSX Serial. Would be something like this but with the PCB having a form of cable restraint and heatshrink to protect the PCB. http://i.imgur.com/TSfwUPJ.jp...

Re: I mode cable/software

Bit more from Martin Korths (noca$h), psx specs document.. SIO Ports vs JOY PortsSIO uses I/O Addresses 1F801050h..1F80105Fh, which seem to be organized similar to the Controller/Memory Card registers at 1F801040h..1F80104Fh, though not identical, and with an additional register at 1F80105Ch, which ...

Re: I mode cable/software

Cheers Shendo, I know of the PS using modified SPI protocol for mmemory cards and controllers, I was thinking that the playstation perhaps used the MOSI/MISO lines as TTL. I don't think there is actual physical space in the cable for any hardware. If there isn't any hardware in the cable that could ...

I will do it soon and link it here (and send you a PM Dan). Shendo's version is a lot more simplistic though to use.
Any update on the source?

I mode cable/software

I have just acquired a nice cheap little item, which comes with the I mode cable. This allowed selected Japanese I mode enabled mobile phones to link to the playstation. Anyone know anything about them from a software development perspective? I assume they just connect rx and tx between the ps1 pad/...

Re: Poorman's Usbloader

You can also do this with a 74HC244, with no extra components.. If you are just using HITSERIAL just wire up txd/rxd gnd and +3.3v.. they cost around £0.50 each..

Re: GameShark, Action Replay & Pro Comms Link pictures

This kind of action replay are not to use with parallel port (even if it looks like) it can be used only using a ISA comm link card. ISA port is obsolete in today standards. you can only use the Xplorer action replay with a parallel port. Unlike the Older AR/GS version 1 or 2, the Gameshark Pro V3....

Re: [DOWNLOAD] PSXSERIAL

Top one would work perfectly. I used a 74HC244 as a buffer because when the playstation was powered down random garbage was sent down the serial line if siocons was still open. Its not a requirement, its just the 'HC244 is powered by the playstation, so when its powered off no communication can occu...
