Re: SCPH-1000 - Sound issue
@PSX_ISO , off-topic but did the serial on the mobo (sticker located on Memory card module, or shielding) match the one at the back of the system ? Somehow serials were mismatched on early models it seems..

Re: Increasing the longevity of a SCPH-100x?
A fan kills the look :P What I do is use a 700x power supply in my 100x (500x to 900x series power supplies are ok) as it seems to produce much less heat than the original. The catch is you have to mod the cable. pinout.png wire.png As you can see the 100x needs one extra GND and one extra 3.5V vers...

What does not work with SetRegion exactly ?
You can try Patch-It as well, does the same as SetRegion, but maybe works better for you.

Re: Experience with KSM-440BAM from totalconsole?
I received the Totalconsole laser this week-end and fitted it today, finally! Of course I checked it versus a genuine KSM440BAM (lifted off a PSone) and now believe it's definitely genuine too. The markings are exactly the same, everywhere (including the sled motor board), the plastic parts definite...

About a month, for an item in stock, you must be joking.
I wished they replied to emails to at least explain what's going on.

Re: Experience with KSM-440BAM from totalconsole?
So a bit of a warning, I ordered 1 a week ago and while they marked it as shipped, the package still hasn't been handed over to USPS..
My friend in Finland ordered 2 weeks ago and has the same tracking indication (USPS Awaiting Item) as of this day, too.
Buyer beware..

Re: Experience with KSM-440BAM from totalconsole?
Thank you very much Apsley, I see a very small difference in the gray plastic part, the mold "circles" appear fainter. So does the printing on the blue sticker, hmm.. I wonder what the experts TriMesh and Shadow think about those close up shots 8-) rama3, that's what the site claims but how can you ...

Thanks for your inputs. I'm dubious as well TriMesh.. ^^;

I'm trying the difference game with a known genuine KSM-440BAM but so far no obvious difference..

Experience with KSM-440BAM from totalconsole?
Hi, I'm wondering if someone already bought a KSM-440BAM laser assembly from this website: http://www.totalconsole.com/KSM-440BAM-Laser-Lens-Drive-For-Sony-PS1-PlayStation-1-PSOne-PS-One--BRAND-NEW_p_370.html They claim they are brand new AND original from Sony, not cheap knockoffs. I really could u...

Re: [Diagram]SCPH-1000/3000 PU-7 MM3 Stealth Install
The other difference is that the SCPH-xxx3 models use the same 7.5IRE black level that NTSC:U/C consoles do, rather than the 0IRE level used in Japan. I never understood the impact of the different IRE levels when it comes to consoles. For instance if a JPN system and US system were connected to th...

Oh, ok, I thought these had 'Dual Shock' written on the back label, not 'Analog Controller'.

Re: Question about rare Dual Analog-controller
Strange, I own a Sony Analog Controller SCPH-1200, rev A (as written on the backlabel), made in japan, and if anything, I feel it's actually more reactive (less lag) than any other PSX pad i've tested, including the DualShock.

Re: Getting best possible RGB picture out of PS1
I've never thought about that, but it makes sense... if the composite encoding/decoding takes some extra time, then composite picture would be moved towards right, or the other way around: RGB picture would be moved towards left? So that's why! I've always wondered why the slight difference. Yes yo...

Re: Getting best possible RGB picture out of PS1
The slight horizontal position shift when using RGB versus composite is completely normal and happens with all consoles, don't worry about it.

Re: MKPSXISO - A PlayStation ISO Maker to Replace BUILDCD
Currently, I just don't have time to work on such a tool as my free time is prioritized for art or continuing development of my very own 3D engine for the PSX especially when I have a full-time job now so I don't have much free time as I used to. I've been considering making such a tool to supplant...
