Re: What format should I use for animated models?
...the best option is a derivative of hierarchical animation (the one where models are made of individual parts) where you generate faces to connect the objects, for instance, suppose you have two cubes that make an "arm": ... But generating a closed of, linked mesh is basically free (exc...

You have no idea how excited I am whenever I hear news about this and the associated engine
Keep up the good work! I'm hoping I can learn C with it eventually.

Re: Wanting to start a new project, and a few questions.
So it's sort of like how Gran Turismo and others draw shiny surfaces on cars? Cool beans.

Re: Wanting to start a new project, and a few questions.
Can you tell me more about the Soul Reaver fog system? I'm not sure I understood your explanation. For texture warping (for ground textures, anyway), Sheep Dog N' Wolf uses a technique which works really well. In that game, the basic ground is always gouraud shaded untextured polygons, but with patc...

Re: Simple STR video player library
I've been trying for hours to get this to do anything - I just have no idea what I'm doing with regards to compiling it, or indeed if i'm meant to compile this rather than stuff it into another program somewhere. I tried following a tutorial [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITXleeBpic8] on how to ma...

Re: VCD Player for PSX (software based)
I'd like to know too - asked this question a few years ago and would love to see something like this (especially with some kind of "insert next disc" type of thing after the end of the video so multiple discs could work without psio).

Re: Project Scarlet - My very own 3D engine for the PSX
This is crazy amazing! The cell shading and big texture is amazing enough, but a whole engine that could make 3D homebrew a more viable thing for the PSX? I'm excited to see how this develops, particularly as you mention there's a way to go performance-wise - ~45fps already without occlusion and oth...

Re: UniROM V6 - New stuff and things.
Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but is it possible to have Unirom standalone on the "off" switch position, with the original ROM at the "on" position for 512kb carts? Also, if I swapped to standalone instead of the +caetla+plugin, would that mean I regain on/off function...

Re: UniROM V6 - New stuff and things.
With Xplorer FX, I'm getting "Checksum error!" every time I try to flash the EEPROM with anything other than an Xplorer FX ROM. What am I doing wrong? EDIT: Never mind, works now. New problem: on MGS, I get 5 seconds into the game and then the sound loops and the game freezes. its this som...

Re: which the top 10 ps1 games for you?
I hope we're counting sequels as one entry because otherwise I'm cheating. In no particular order: 1. wipEout, Wipeout 2097, Wipeout 3 SE. 2. Driver, Driver 2. 3. Toca 2: Touring Cars, Toca World Touring Cars. 4. Tony Hawk's Skateboarding. 5. Sheep Dog N' Wolf. 6. Demolition Racer. 7. Rally Masters....

You're right - I can't believe I didn't notice, but then again I did only test it on an emulator
This has amazing potential and I must say I would like to see how much of this the ps1 could handle

Re: TMD model viewer example
Holy cow! This is amazing!
I imagine this took a very long time, too.
And 60fps as well - on a ps1!
Very nice.
(I really like the smooth camera aswell)

Re: [DOWNLOAD] PlayStation 1 BIOS Collection
I see that we are missing SCPH102. I think I can help. Actually I just found out there are two different SCPH102s - 102a and 102b. I think the bios may be different in each. I think the music visualizer changed a little bit, but I could be wrong. If I work out how to perform a bios dump safely I wil...

Re: How to encode STR video files
Oh. ok. I guess. I just thought it would be a very interesting thing to be able to do - just adding to the vesatility of the ps1 in modern times. At least we know it is possible theoretically.
