Re: NO$PSX V2.2 Released (16th Dec 2022)
I thought I posted here also, haven't been able to use version 2.2... instant crash, win10 running fine under VMWare. v2.1 has no problems. error.png I think I told you about it?? and it was related to the command line, it seems to work when using the File -> Open menu. I think I tested it with this...

Re: First LibCrypt CDROM Discovered!
What happened? From what I've gathered, the Yaroze consoles were sold via mail order, with only 1000 consoles sold in europe, but more were sold in usa and japan. Hey man, Any chance of bumping that thread, I'm not a member and I'm curious if those disc booted on PAL retail psx. http://forum.redump...

Re: Hi guys I want some information
Hi welcome.
I use eclipse, but VS code should work, I know that's what they use with psyq-nugget.
The psyq discs on archive.org have a lot of samples, I dont know if the VM has them.

Re: Reverse Engineering the PSX Copy Protection (Wobble Groove)
Thanks for the detailed reply, I read it several times to understand this better :) They read the data of the CDR, that's what I assumed also, so it's strange to me that the Detal guy modified a CDR burner, unless Datel disc's are CDR's?? He did say "CD-R masteringhouse".... I doubt it! :s...

Re: Reverse Engineering the PSX Copy Protection (Wobble Groove)
This is probably the only way going forward to get a PSX booting CD. I noticed the screenshot of the Detal guy mentions also modifying a CDR ATIP track. Can a glass master be made direct from the CDR? If I understand this correctly: 1) You would modify a CD burner to burn with the laser turning on a...

What happened? From what I've gathered, the Yaroze consoles were sold via mail order, with only 1000 consoles sold in europe, but more were sold in usa and japan. Apparently Sony did then produce 1000 cdroms with yaroze games, and mailed them to the european Yaroze owners, and people in usa or japa...

Re: First LibCrypt CDROM Discovered!
I don't have one... but I uploaded the patch @brill made to archive: https://archive.org/details/net-yaroze-europe-official-members-demos-disc-sled-01340 It looks like it was both, SCEW and encrypted, this is from his comment in the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=833ZrPGDXtY This disc is pro...

Re: What is ECOFF?
Basically, you load (and execute?) the "libps.exe" file, libps.exe is like the DLL preloaded into RAM, IIRC it's just a normal PSX-EXE file with the library object code, I dont think its runnable tho, I haven't checked. and then load and execute the "yaroze coff" file? No, TMK t...

Re: Need some help with TIMS
What OS are you using? Img2tim is a great tool, I would try to getting it working. You can batch it and set the VRAM coordinates. I use timtool yo set out rough images first, then quickly move to a batch conversion because the images change a lot, but if I need to change the size I set out using tim...

Re: What is ECOFF?
This is too low level for me and I haven't looked at this stuff in many years, but I'll give it a crack. ECOFF is the Net Yaroze binary executable format, I'm not sure what the differences is between COFF and ECOFF... AI answer: COFF and ECOFF are both file formats for executable, object code, and s...

Re: TSQ Files?
matsuda.zip That's the only TSQ files in the Tron leak (https://archive.org/download/capcom-leak-2020_202012/Capcom/Archive%234/), at least searching for *.tsq files. I dont know if they used it in retail, the leak to me looks like a dump of everything from start to end, so maybe they only tested i...

Re: Thesis about a PS1 Game Engine
They filmed the making of DHT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVgokAf416Q&list=PL2--W5T9mC31UNO5dEdMEhy4lCd11n20R I think the in game level editor would have been used internally, it's just a guess tho, but to program that feature to me suggest that it was, eg the game testers were also fixing ...

Re: Thesis about a PS1 Game Engine
No problem, well, DHT was a FPS (on rails), a driving game and 3rd person top down... and doing it all pretty well, to me that's pretty general purpose and flexible... it's not perfect, characters look quirky (made from billboards) but it could have been used to make pretty much any 3D game, ie GTA ...

Re: Thesis about a PS1 Game Engine
I dont see what's new or challenges anything about this thesis? There have been many games that used the same "engine" on PSX, I know the die hard trilogy engine is pretty generic (with fake 3D people) and it was used on another different game. There are PS games that have source code avai...

Re: 'Simulated known Patch: missing_cop0r13 (14-opcode r10/r9 variant)'
This is my homebrew, I'm not explicitly inserting anything into the BIOS, I wouldn't know how  I build my executable via the Net Yaroze compiler, then it's packaged up with yarexe (the old combine.exe and exefixup in one) and it out put only that message. But when I build with PSX.dev's toolcha...

'Simulated known Patch: missing_cop0r13 (14-opcode r10/r9 variant)'
Hi,
what does "'Simulated known Patch: missing_cop0r13 (14-opcode r10/r9 variant)'" this mean?
It doesn't crash on no$psx or other emulators.
