Re: Caetla running on cd?
Yes. Most cheat systems are stand alone exectutables, but some (like Game Guru, last GameShark/Xploder/CheatcodeS versions) do load resource files from the disc. I believe that some Datel stuff play their introduction/adverts from fixed LBAs too. What cheat software would you like to have into a sin...

Re: UniROM 8.0.b1 Released!
The disc length is 00:03:18 (including the pregap). I'm not sure that mastering data tracks shorter than 4 seconds is standard compliant, or if your CDR burning issue is related to this, but I'll leave the rebuilt image here anyway...

Re: PSX BIOS from PSP 6.60 optimised to play games more smoothly - but in what way?
2013: the benefits became clear The benefits of PSXonPSP BIOS were first noticed in 2013 by users of the newly released POPS (Sony's PS1 emulator on PS2; ripped from a 2010 Japan-only PSBB downloadable PS1 game demo; hacked to run any PS1 game from HDD/USB/SMB). It was favoured by POPS users due to...

Re: UniROM V6 - New stuff and things.
Thanks for your help =) You are welcome. I get screen corruption on unirom after a while, the empty blue spaces turn into garbled squares, but it goes away usually.... Yeah, I get that random screen corruption sometimes too, on the Loading hang on screen, whatever cartridge I use (Xplorer included)...

Re: UniROM V6 - New stuff and things.
That 4M SST isn't supported by Caetla, that's why it cannot save codes and config. Freezes on "Loading" box and fast/full Caetla boot doing the same is due to the unsupported PAR3/GS3 switch mapping. Also, the controller does bank swap. Get a Xploder/Xplorer/X-Terminator device to have a f...

Re: UniROM V6 - New stuff and things.
Sorry if this has been asked before, but what is the difference between / reason for, unirom_caetla.rom, and unriom_caetlaNTSC.rom. Unirom_caetla.rom is for PAL consoles? Probably... Just wanting to make sure thanks. Unirom_caetla.rom is pre-configured for PAL display. unriom_caetlaNTSC.rom is pre-...

Off-topic, UniRom IPL Just FYI, as for the readme, the dev of IPL was Herben. There's a credits option ;) . http://aybabtu.chez.com/RANDOMPIX/Capture-1.jpg Yeah, BreakerPro is a blatant ripoff of ImportPlayer Light v2.1, on a bootable pressed disc, and with loads of code NOPed to hide the autor's na...

Re: UniROM V6 - New stuff and things.
I have scph-7501. When I tried unirom v6 bios boot did not work I think, but it does work on v44. I would say v44 is better since you can just push r1 then r2 to boot game, I don't want to have to navigate the menu every single time like with v6. V6 2M does boot with R2. V6 standalone does not. I b...

Re: Backup Action Replay Professional Datel V3.0
Ooooh, an undumped version  . Sad that its code list was flushed tho... To backup your ROM, you need either Datel's PlayStation Version 3 Utilities (aka PSX Utils), or Hanimar's ReflashTool CDROM image and DOS apps. Both require a PC with a LPT parallel port. Datel's software encrypts the dump...

gameshark psx v1.6c Dat oldie :) . I tried flashing another gs rom to it. Or seeing as its an oldie should i try a par rom? Well, the AR v1.x ROMs in the X-Flash ROMFILE can fit your 1M EEPROM, but the AR changelog sounds like v1.98 and higher expect two 1M EEPROMs to be installed. I'm not familiar...

Re: BIOS region check routine bypassing
@kHn: Your archive contains a patched OSD.EXE, right? I'd bet this would also work directly, leaving the original experience intact. Yep, it's the OSD EXE extracted from the BIOS image, + a valid PS-X header, so it can be opened in your fav disassembler for you to see what's patched inside. Perhaps...

Awesome! This is far the best compilation of ROM's to date. You did a good job on it :) Thanks ! Glad that it's useful to some gentlemen 8-) . Squaresoft74 has contributed a lot to this project, buying Xplorers and dumping their obscure ROMs. Side note about the horrible STR playback issues with th...

Re: BIOS region check routine bypassing
Reversed the POPStarter patches, I'm leaving that here in case you wanna see what it does : 24523402.ZIP The BIOS comes from the emulator btw. The patches for license and logo checks (4 modified instructions) are useful. The rest is not needed. There was also another hack to skip the entire OSD load...

Re: BIOS region check routine bypassing
The check is on the OSD executable, and the OSD executable is compressed in some BIOSes. I did hardpatch a PS BIOS image (during the POPStarter development) to skip the bootsector check, luckily it was not packed. But this approach, for compressed OSD, would require the injection of a subroutine (pa...
