Re: GameShark, Action Replay & Pro Comms Link pictures

About the parallel port just found this today: https://www.amazon.com/-/es/PEX1P-StarTech-com-Adaptador-Paralelo-Tarjeta/dp/B001Q7X0Z8/ It should works as it says fully compatible with IEEE 1284. I'm not 100% sure about the PCI-E version, but the PCI one (more expensive too), I did check the drivers...

Re: Best laser lens for Playstation?

Sorry for the bump. The best lasers are from 700x models and UP. 5501 is just a little bit better than 100x models, but they are worse in comparison to 700x and up models. As for DAC, the best option is just to make the SPDIF mod on them. Btw, as for video part, is better on 750x models and up (dunn...

Are 5501 affected too?

I mean, to be 100% confirmed?

Did you tried to contact the author?

Frédéric Brière <[email protected]>

The code seems fine, but keep in mind it uses Linux bases, so stuff like I/O is much easier, like /dev/floppy (as he used).

Re: Gameshark v2.1 for homebrew

With GameShark PRO I always used just a regular Parallel port.

Works fine.

Re: PSX with Component cable.

PS1/PSX can output real C-Sync, besides R G B. For that you need to get the signal directly from RGB (normally from CXA1645 or H7240 or Sony A2160) IC. CXA1645 pin 10 H7240 pin 14 A2160 pin 14 For audio, L (left) is called mono too, and R (right) is just the other audio channel. Here is the SCPH-100...

Let's us know how it was after the components arrive.

Now I'm even planning to get a Sony 27" Trinitron WEGA.

Re: CRT RGB Modification/Hack [56K Warning]

So let's be clear here. You injected the R-G-B signals on each (related colour) C4544 collector pin? I assume you cut out the collector pin coming from Jungle IC. All the rest remains intact? Is so sad the jungle IC generally uses TTL signal and not analog, otherwise I would just inject my R-G-B sig...

Re: CRT RGB Modification/Hack [56K Warning]

A super simple solution would be using a THS7314:
http://www.ti.com/product/ths7314

Just need three 75 Ohm resistors and one 0.1uf Capacitor.
Shadow wrote:By "decop", you mean, decouple?
Correct.

Putting 1N4148 diodes on RGB lines is more than enough for it.

Re: CRT RGB Modification/Hack

Also, I always hear you should decop all the RGB lines to avoid the voltage to flow from TV to the equipment (console, etc), otherwise you could smoke the console.

Re: CRT RGB Modification/Hack

Everybody should also knows the voltage from any TV can KILL you on instant, so be very careful if anybody is going to try this out.

You just used composite video input to inject CSYNC ?

Re: [DOWNLOAD] PlayStation 1 BIOS Collection

Yes, it's SCPH-5903. The (re-)naming is really confusing. If you check the above posts... smf originally called it scph5903.bin with CRC32 specified as 446ec5b2. then smf renamed it to ps-22(c) and uploaded it, with same CRC32 as above. and then gradius renamed it to 5903.bin and compared it to ps-...

Re: [DOWNLOAD] PlayStation 1 BIOS Collection

I compared the 1st part (512KB) with ps-22j and found just 5 different bytes:

Comparing files 5903.bin and PS-22J.BIN
00000000: 14 13
00006FFC: C8 C1
00007000: 04 06
00007005: DF 7F
00007009: 00 80

ps-40j.bin is the only one with "14" @ 0x00000000
