Re: rsdlink and tmdsort for windows 64
You can always compare files before and after sorting. But readme explicitly says that polygons are sorted by their type. You should know that PS1 can render different types of primitives, but before rendering they must be transformed and library has separate routines for each type, chaotic jumping ...

Re: Abe's Exoddus (decompile)
One thing I hate about PC port is that it lacks reverberation effects from PS1 version. If this project will implement them in a proper and flawless way I will be more than happy, otherwise it has zero value to me. It always pissed me off when developers absolutely didn't care about sound, so many g...

-A system for texture animations/CLUT animations: Since you can't just scroll textures like the Nintendo64 does, Water, fire and other animations need to be animated manually in the VRAM. Not true. Look at game Small Soldiers, it uses texture window command for such scrolling. Also look at Armorine...

Re: How to debug with XERBA by Dr. Hell
Most probably it is disabled in the release. Unfortunately to this day we don't have adequate debugger for PS1, some of the existent either buggy or incomplete and this is very sad. I wish there was something similar to that one in PCSX2, which can even import symbols if they were left in ELF by dev...

Re: NO$PSX V2.0 Released (12th Aug 2017)
I've found some new bugs. Some games from Eidos have boot menu where you can try demos and watch trailers, so far I tested two such discs: Akuji The Heartless and Fighting Force. Both of them fail to boot demos from that menu, screen goes black, music continues to play and nothing happens but when y...

Re: What is the best PS1 model to have?
SCPH-10x has better quality CD drive but otherwise it's not great model at all. My first PS1 was SCPH-7502 and it had pretty weak CD holder-spindle, over time plastic in it just crumbled and those metallic balls which keep CD in place just fell of. It was possible to put them back but it wasn't for ...

Oh, I remember this game, it has very poor controls and not fun to play because of lackluster game design. Frogger 2 was a lot better and very enjoyable, but it was made by another developer studio.Kneesnap wrote:PSX game (Frogger: He's Back)

You surely don't know what you're doing there. You didn't isolated that resistor's wire so it touches exposed copper on the PCB.

Re: VCD Player for PSX (software based)
This is not a myth but reality. 90's are in the past and modern compilers really evolved pretty good. You can see it in action here:nocash wrote:Hmmmm, I think those modern C/C++ compiler optimizations are a myth originated somewhere in the 1990's.

I've seen lots of SYM files on "PsyQ DevKit Samples Addon CD" and as far as I know there were different versions of their format during PS1 lifespan.

Re: NO$PSX V2.0 Released (12th Aug 2017)
Just checked new version and found some bugs:
1. Corrupted startup "PlayStation" logo. 2. Doom doesn't render walls. 3. Reverberation also quite bugged. Best game to check it - Vagrant Story, when you walk into saving point there is sound loop anomaly appears.

Wow, that's quite an achievement. If back in the day somebody has told me that PS1 can do it, I would never believe in it.

Re: Writing an assembler for the PS1
For all needed info check nocash's site, he did comprehensive PS1 research and documented it very well, he also made very advanced PS1 emulator with debugger, though it's not perfect. Also you can use IDApro for disassembling PS1 games if you need reference source for your own work, though I doubt t...
