Hi everyone,

I have a ps1 model 5552 from France.

I live now in Canada and voltage here is 110/60.

When a plug the ps1, it work correctly, is it dangerous for the psu ?

Thanks.

F6.

Use a step-up transformer and bring the voltage up to proper specifications.

Yes you can simply change the PSU to a 110V rated one. Just be sure to put a small label on the underside of the PlayStation stating that it's now 110V over the original 240V writing from Sony.

110V might be working fine on the 240V rated PSU, but it's probably drawing more current thus producing more heat. A power supply engineer who is an expert in the field or has studied the PlayStation power supply in depth would be able to answer you better :)
