Hi all,
I'm trying to get X-Link working. I have it connected to an old Win XP PC with a db 25 cable. Everything worked fine using X-Link DOS and UserPort I could view the memory card and I updated the ROM. However now X Link DOS freezes on the 'press any key' screen.

I have tried re downloading the software and still it freezes I'm confused as I don't think anything has changed on the PC to cause this and I don't really know where to troubleshoot it next.

X-Link Windows, just gives me 'Comms Error'

Also i have a question about what mode to put the Port in I've read it should be SSP however the only options I have in my BIOS are AT,PS/2,ECP,EPP. I left it as PS/2 and it worked just wondering if there is a better mode.

Thanks
Chris

Further to this the software runs fine in Dosbox however doesn't detect psx, it also runs in safe mode with command prompt again can;t detect the PSX.

I'm confused as to what has changed to stop the program working in command prompt, I had it working fine for like 10 minutes.

I rebuilt the pc and started again, it worked first time, now it does not want to work again, totally confused. Nothing changed. I exited the program and tried to start it again.

Use SPP (AT should be fine) mode in the BIOS.
Use Windows 98 (Second Edition is okay too).
Use address 0x378 for LPT1.
Use a 1:1 pin based DB-25 cable (not a null modem cable).
