Hello
Lately i found out that my old PSX (5502) still exists, I found it after severall years of search and was very happy about it having in mind that a PSIO project is in development. Unfortunately it isn't playing any XA audio

No ingame music, and no FMV sound. It's plying CDDA audio well tho. The games act identically on ePSXe with disabled XA so it si definitely the problem. Can anyone give me a hint if i can do somoething with it without replacing the board? Anything will be great, I am a software enginner with some electronics experience so technical information are welcome.
Thanks

Interesting... Is the GPU behaving normal (no graphic problems)?

Nope, no graphical glitches. Tho once or twice the console had reset without any reason (not regular voltage?). In addition it is modded with some tiny microcontroller (PIC i guess). And the AV cable is taken from a PS3, but I think it shouldn't be a problem looking by the AV pinout.

A reset without reason is a faulty power supply.
It sounds like a chip in the audio circuitry is bad, but I'm not sure what one. It's too hard to tell in this situation without actually taking a look at the system itself. However, I reccomened that you check out the IC's listed in in this topic

Well if by checking it you meant push it as hard to the board as safely possible while running - it didn't change a thing. Well i guess I'll just have to pick up a "new" unit from ebay when PSIO launches. Thanks for help
