5501 incompatible with S-Video

Hello. Just got a PSX in today from seller on ebay who says the unit works. I plugged it up to my official sony s-video cable and power cable that is plugged up to the 7701 I already have. I booted the 5501 and I can hear audio but no picture. Put my 7701 back on and works fine. So I grabbed an old composite cable for the PSX and hooked the 5501 to it, and what do you know? I have picture now! Is the 5501 incompatible with S-video? I bought this unit for use with PSIO but if it can't support S-video then I will be returning it. I don't want to use my 7701 as it has a modchip. I guess I may have to find another 7701. :/

All PSX models have S-Video. A pin in the MULTI-AV could be damaged.
Modchip or not, PSIO will work with it.
