Curious. Would it be possible to use a similar method to make a PAL system boot with 60Hz video output?
If so, I'd love to have an option for that :)
I've heard some later BIOS versions have just one bit to determine if the console should boot with 50 or with 60Hz video output, but I don't think ...

Was it the laser that you replaced or the mechanism? For all I know, those dodgy Chinese lasers are prone to snapping and wearing out after you first install them. My word of advice, is to replace the laser from a donor unit and tune it to the best of your abilities.

The only difference between the two is that it has additional routines for the internal VCD processing card.

You will need to install the PsyQ SDK to compile it, I haven't myself compiled this to see if it works so good luck with trying.
