Hi Matej, thank you very much for the links, I was just wondering about a sprite editor lately.

Concerning the Allegro library, I'm afraid that linking external libraries into the official devkit is not possible as the Psy-Q SDK is closely tight to the hardware. In theory you would need a middle layer of translation between the two.
By the way, I was also looking for a (game) "engine" ready made for PSone but I'm afraid that such a tool is not available as well.
The closest thing I've found is a thin wrapper library written by Orion_, it allows to ease a bit of pain and getting things up pretty quick.

Anyways you can use that tools. They are
probably best from opensource/freeware what
I have found...
