I'm setting up bios in OpenEmu which took me here (http://www.psxdev.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=56) and noticed a similarity in identical bios claims which I'd already confirmed (that you hadn't confirmed) and decided to check the others too for you, as well as one that OpenEmu has listed that you don't. I used the files you have available for download in all of these checks.

Yes, it is somewhat known that some identical BIOS images got used on different console models.
Additionally, some console revisions got released with older motherboards installed, yet named like a new one.
This is probably the case with your 7003 vs the 5501.

That said, the 7002 vs 9002 is rather odd. Their release dates are about 2 years apart and the chipset had changed quite a bit, especially on the CD controller.

In general, all the SCPH-xxx3 consoles had the same boot ROM as the equivalent SCPH-xxx1 versions, since they were NTSC and had an English menu. Most of the SCPH-7003s have PU-18s in them, presumably using up boards left over from the SCPH-5503 production in the new bundle with the Dual Shock controller. Some of the later production ones were PU-20, although they hit the market far later than the PU-20 based Japanese SCPH-7000 units.

The SCPH-5502 and the SCPH-5552 are exactly the same console. The difference in part number is that the 5502 was shipped with a single digital controller and the 5552 was shipped with two digital controllers and a memory card (AKA "Value Pack").
