superinternetfriends.com dead (Net Yaroze interviews)

Post by gwald » March 17th, 2017, 3:33 pm

This site had good interview of Net Yaroze dev's.
The owner has let the domain expire and archive.org now doesn't have a archive

They did have it, and I read one a week ago, but now this week it's not there:
http://web.archive.org/web/201603160721 ... iends.com/

Because the domain squatter has a robot.txt

I asked the creator, Dan if he has a backup, but haven't heard from him, see comments.

Anyone have a back up of it?

I've searched search engine cache (Chinese/Russian) but didn't find anything.

I'm just after the text if anyone has it or can get it.
Cheers

Edit: emailed archive.org
Hello,
Hope all is well.

Last week I accessed this archive:
http://web.archive.org/web/201604160721 ... iends.com/

The domain expired and now is being squatted by a reseller, which is
very common.
But for some reason they put a robots.txt and now there's no trace of
the it online :(

The site contained interviews of hobbyist Sony PS1 game developers (Net Yaroze).
This is historically important and would like to retrieve the pages.

I imagine this is a major issue, especially as domains lapse and new
sites come online very frequently.
But, I don't see why the robot.txt has to be applied retrospectively.

Anyway, I hope someone can help regarding the interviews, I would
really like to preserve them.

Nope. Don't have a copy of it unfortunately. I spoke with Dan a while ago I remember to get in touch with the creator of "GRAVITATION". I was then speaking with him about the programming he did for it.

Well, I didn't get a reply, I occasionally check the archive.org site to see if by any chance it was back, and one day it was there :D
I thought I'd make a backup (via firefox, save as) just in case :?
The next day, it wasn't there, and it's still not there.. :shrug
Anyway, I've uploaded the interviews (as is from archive.org) on my new domain name, SCEE's old, Net Yaroze European site/newsgroup server domain name
I've also, added my old net yaroze page there, not sure if the other members will want to do the same and I'm not going to share ssh/ftp  I just think it's funny
