Gameshark v2.1 for homebrew

I found a GS 2.1 at a local pawn shop, but not sure if I can use it for anything.

Can GS 2.1 be used to upload homebrew without the CommsLink ISA card? If not, then what is the issue? Is it a software issue - or truly a hardware problem?

GameShark requires a commslink such as the DATEL based ISA one, or a FreeWing (homebrew hardware).
It's easier to just use an Xplorer.

So I finally got Xplorer, looks like a V1? And its a PAL, so I get a nice B&W video with static audio noise when its activated :clap

So anyhow, is Xplorer supposed to boot backups?

And also, any regular DB25 Male-Female cable will work to connect it to the PC ?

With GameShark PRO I always used just a regular Parallel port.

Works fine.

Yes, but only the GameShark PRO use Parallel port, the regular GameShark use the CommLink interface from Datel.

Oh right!

I have forgot that... so many years passed (18y), easy to forget.
