Might be specific to my device i guess. :)
With earlier releases i had to use this setting to get it to work at all:

With latest ones i have to use (just like with Nxflash):

I too had issue with newer NoPs hanging on Waiting for response or protocol negotiation with my setup.
Please try Unirom 8.0.C and the NoPs.exe that comes with as a workaround (testing both tx/rx settings to make sure).
That worked for me.

It's a matter of few secondes for your cart.
This is what you should get when the process is running:

It's s command line application, you run it from the command prompt.

If you run it without any switches it explains what the options are with a bit of help

i ran nops with unirom, it still gets to waiting for response or protocol negotiation. so something's not right somewhere, could it be the settings of the port, something wrong with the adapter or the serial port on the console?

Looking at your screenshot:
Access to the port is denied
Which operating system are you using ?
Did you try running it as administrator ?
Did you try using Unirom 8.0.C and the NoPs exe that comes with at all ?
Judging by your folder name, it looks like your using the latest one from the Github page.
Can you post picture of your adapter ?

this is the adapter: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-To-RS232 ... 2749.l2649

i noticed when i plug it in 2 blue lights flash for 1 second, there is a red light that stays on.
i don't know if the blue lights are the data lights or not.

i'm using windows 10 x64. it's still the same with unirom nops

Congratz for figuring it out and getting it working. :)
Thanks for the rom dump, i'll include it to the clones cartridges romset that will come with later Unirom releases.
Here's the flasher image to restore your cart if you want to do it from disc.

Else just use NoPS to restore your cart:
Boot Unirom.
Plug your cart.
Have both NoPS.exe and EMS Gold Finger 1.5.rom in a same folder.

Run this command:
NoPS /rom "EMS Gold Finger 1.5.rom" COMX
With X matching your com port number.

Can't really quantify since there were a lot of those clones/hacks back in time.
The current romset contains about 70 roms, it's just a collection of everything that i could find.
If you own some other carts, it might be worth checking them. ;)

Nope, i don't have this one yet so it would be welcome if you could dump it. :)
The latest dumps collection is included with Unirom's disc (8.0.Eish / 8.0.Fish).
