Your GoldFinger cartridge is 128k so the 2.21 rom won't fit as it's a 256k one.
I've injected the E.M.S. 1.5 rom instead.
Get attached files and proceed as previously to restore your carts. :)

Action Replay CD and Golden Finger roms were from E.M.S. devices.
I don't have any 128k Golden Finger labeled rom that would fit on your cartridge atm sorry.
I mostly rely on users providing dumps of their carts.

I already have dumps from xiaNaix page and some others from various users who contibuted. ;)
Currently sorting them all so they'll be included with Unirom at some point.
I have a Golden Finger CD (2M) ver2.3 dump from my E.M.S TopView movie card which seems to work fine shrinked to 128k.
Makes me wonder why they labeled it 2M at all while still being dumped from a 256k SST 29LE020.
Maybe they used such eeprom in case they would have provided some update with bigger rom.
The VCD code is on a separate eeprom on socket.

You may want to give this one a try ?

I'm not sure tbh.
2.1, 2.11, 2.2 and 2.21 have the exact same codelist data from offset 0x20000 (second 128k half).
I tried injecting it to 2.3 rom but cheats won't load, which makes me think this rom is a fake 2M.

Here it is in its 128k form, it should work on your cartridge.
As for the included Japanese only cheats, nothing i can do about, the only source i have for this rom is my TopView device.

You need to make or buy a serial cable. You can use unirom or nxflash to dump the carts contents over the serial port.

Have a look on here for serial cables, lots of posts.

@Squaresoft74 2megabits is 256kilobytes. They often use megabit when talking about EEPROMs, like a lot of companies did with memory cards (1mb memory cards).. 1megabit=128k 🙂. That, and it makes them sound better 😂

@Dan
Yeah that was supposed to make things more look impressive i guess. :D
It was more about the rom not looking like other 256k ones (codelist wise).
But it's been figured out since thanks to kHn who put me on the right path. :)

@Mdv
Just like Dan suggested, getting a serial cable will do the job using Unirom or Nxflash. :)

You need a serial cable. The port on those carts is not parallel compatible.

I used to sell them a while ago, someone contacted me recently and I am building them one.

If you are UK I may have a spare half link lead and could build you one although would need to check if I have the requisite parts. You are looking at around £21 delivered in the UK

It might be for a single dumping usage i agree.
But it's good to have one if you ever need to tinker with some other cartridges in the future.
It would, for example, also allow you to flash/recover carts where roms wouldn't yet be included with Unirom's disc or even easily update your cart with latest Unirom releases without wasting discs. ;)

Depends on your definition of expensive, I think uneconomical would be more apt. You could go to a guy in the US that makes them and pay $80 or buy a link cable and make it yourself.
