No update yet. I still have the adapter safe and sound with me though. I will get to it soon. I am very interested in it. I will reverse engineer the board and make a full schematic as well as dump the firmware from the MCU and then I will return it to you :)
Development Console: SCPH-5502 with 8MB RAM, MM3 Modchip, PAL 60 Colour Modification (for NTSC), PSIO Switch Board, DB-9 breakout headers for both RGB and Serial output and an Xplorer with CAETLA 0.34.

PlayStation Development PC: Windows 98 SE, Pentium 3 at 400MHz, 128MB SDRAM, DTL-H2000, DTL-H2010, DTL-H201A, DTL-S2020 (with 4GB SCSI-2 HDD), 21" Sony G420, CD-R burner, 3.25" and 5.25" Floppy Diskette Drives, ZIP 100 Diskette Drive and an IBM Model M keyboard.

Interesting to see the SCPH-20000 PCB photo with the 44pin (M) SC440881 chip.

Is there a known firmware dumping method for those Motorola 44pin chips?
Or for other Motorola 32pin/64pin chips (=those used in Digital Joypad, Mouse, and old Memory Cards)?

Never looked into if they have a dump method actually for the Motorola chip. I thought it was going to have an additional MCU or ROM on the other side of the PCB but it seems it just has the Motorola SC440881.

I was going to reverse engineer this SCPH-2000 device but I just haven't had any time. One day I will get to it though! I still have the connector however and it's safe and sound (no way am I getting rid of it). Once it's reversed, I'll send it back to the original owner though :)

If you find a dump method NO$CASH, let me know and I'll dump the firmware from it.

What is the SCPH-2000 worth? does anyone know how many exist?

Also what can someone tell me about DTL-H3050 communication cable?

hopefully you get to it soon :) i would love to use it on linux for psx and ps2, particularly the for the ps2.

another route i was looking at was taking the IR sensor and writing some generic IR communicator from the serial port on my main dev machine to send it scan codes to see if i can unlock it using a keyboard via IR to free up the controller port.

didnt you have more than one model?
