Hey. Needing some help finding a schematic for the scph1001 pu-8 motherboard. I have a ps1 that shows no signs of any response from cd drive. I have replaced the driver chip and still no response. I have noticed there's a light squeal from the PSU. I forget which pin it is at the moment. But one of the center pins that run to the three fuses at the ribbon cable for the sled. The ps1 works other than the drive not working.

The PU-8 schematic was never leaked from Sony unfortunately so it doesn't exist. The drive not working could be any number of problems.

Alrright. Well does anyone have any idea of the chips or anything related to the disk drive that I need to check. I know it's not the drive its self. Tried different drive. And its not the driver on the bottom of the board.

Hi guys!
Any progress on that? My Playstation 1 (SCPH-1001/PU-8) have the same problem. I suspect that integrated circuit called "BA" might be falty, but also might be the 5v regulator that provides 5v to other IC's, and can cause THIS and more other issues. I already bought a new multimeter, more powerful, and I'm going to iniciate the job on that on this week.
I'll keep you updated about this. (and pardon my english. I don't write in english very well...).

CXD-2510Q would be your next option to check which is the CD-ROM DSP.
