Did I Break my Xplorer FX?

Hi again guys!

Just received my brand new Xplorer FX in the mail today. After a few hours messing around in the stock Firmware, I burned X-Flash 1.2 (the one that Orion kindly distributed in his devkit) to a disc.

I followed the instructions on Orion's website carefully; however, my flash seems to have been unsuccessful. :( When I boot the PlayStation with the cartridge inserted (on or off), the PS hangs at a black screen. So, I can't even boot into X-Flash with the Xplorer plugged in.

Is there any way that I can recover my Xplorer? Might it be safe to insert the Xplorer AFTER booting into X-Flash so that I can attempt a re-flash?

NOTE:
I seriously hope this wasn't the cause, but my Xplorer was ON at the time of flashing.

Thanks a lot guys. Any help at all is greatly appreciated!

Reflash it with CAETLA 0.34 and try the switch in both positions for doing PSX development over a parallel cable.
If you want the original firmware back, you will need to use X-Killer to flash it back over a parallel cable, or burn the firmware to the X-Killer CD-ROM.

Thanks for the help again, Shadow!

Since I can't get the PS to boot at all with the Xplorer plugged in (no SCE logo, no BIOS, ...), is it safe to unplug the Xplorer, boot into X-Flash and THEN (with the PS still on) plug the Xplorer back in? (Just don't want to damage it any more if I can help it, lol).

Oh, and thanks for the link. I was looking for more info on X-Flash. :)

Yes. Turn off the PSX, unplug the Xplorer FX and re-plug it in. See if the problem still persists.
If so, repeat, but leave the Xplorer FX unplugged this time and see if the PSX boots as normal.

Yes you can plug in the Xplorer while the PSX is on. You will need to press R2 followed by R1. Flash it again as needed.
Don't worry. It is pretty much impossible to brick an Xplorer :P

Woohoo! Thanks so much! Works perfectly! My copy of Caetla is in Japanese, but I'll work that out, haha. :)

Download the X-Flash CD-ROM from the link above, burn that, and put CAETLA 0.34 from it. It is in English and works pefect with PSEXE.COM.
