GUNCON problem...

Post by provato » December 16th, 2014, 8:22 am

Hi guys, I really need help in a matter concerning GUNCON 1.
I bought the tv you can see in the photos, and all my guns (including an authentic GUNCON and a super cobra) aren't working properly (can't aim, rarely shoot inside the screen, can't calibrate them)

I have another Sony trinitron that works flawlessly with my guns. I read somewhere that it has to do with my tv being a HD CRT or because of 100 Hz. Can someone confirm if this Tv works with GUNCON or not? (And why...)

Lightguns don't work with flatscreens all too well. The 100Hz rate will also mess it up real good. Stick to 50 or 60Hz.
I'm not sure if Trinitrons also have an effect with Lightguns, but I don't think so.

I don't think this model is the really flat, or any CRT for that matter... They may look flat but they really aren't 100%.
As for the 100Hz, how can I change this to 50 or 60? I can't find something in the menu. I don't even know if the ps1 I connect there outputs at 100 hz

The TV would have buffers which will induce lag, but in return provide 100Hz.
Just use a different TV. It won't work with this one.

That's a damn pity... It's an awesome tv set, ps1 through s-video looks fantastic, but doesn't work with guncon.... :'( :'(
It's alright though, since I only spent 15 € to buy it. I guess I'll have to re-sell it now.

The best you could get would be a SCART and convex based 50 or 60Hz only CRT.
Good luck trying to find one though :?
