PSX.EXE

Post by Samez » November 7th, 2014, 1:28 am

Hey guys have a quick question for you, ive been hanging around this site for awhile now and theres so much you can learn here and i love it, but recently i have come across the psx.exe file and from what i can understand this file contains the information of where everything is kept and other general information for debug games, my question is, is there anyway to turn a pre existing PSX.EXE file into something more editable/Readable.

Thanks,

Sam.

Yes, it's called disassembling, and it will spit out MIPS machine code (assembler).
"IDA Pro" can do PS-EXE's, but I find a tool one of my friends made called 'PREF' works much better
Development Console: SCPH-5502 with 8MB RAM, MM3 Modchip, PAL 60 Colour Modification (for NTSC), PSIO Switch Board, DB-9 breakout headers for both RGB and Serial output and an Xplorer with CAETLA 0.34.

PlayStation Development PC: Windows 98 SE, Pentium 3 at 400MHz, 128MB SDRAM, DTL-H2000, DTL-H2010, DTL-H201A, DTL-S2020 (with 4GB SCSI-2 HDD), 21" Sony G420, CD-R burner, 3.25" and 5.25" Floppy Diskette Drives, ZIP 100 Diskette Drive and an IBM Model M keyboard.
