Which replacement laser for which revision?

I got a couple of systems with defective lasers or reading issues.
I've fixed one of them, my SCPH-1002, by replacing the laser with a KSM-440BAM and now the system can read backups and originals perfectly fine again.
I still got an SCPH-5002, an SCPH-7502 and an SCPH-9002. AFAIK the length of the ribbon cable of the KSM-440BAM can be an issue depending on the system's revision so can anyone tell me which replacement laser I can buy for those systems?
The 5002 just has some reading issues so I guess adjusting the pot could suffice, but the 7502 and the 9002 can't read anything and pot adjustments didn't help.

You can buy ribbon extensions for the PSX lasers. Run a Google search for them

Oh really? So I can just install BAMs in all systems, that's nice! Just found the extension on Aliexpress. Thanks for the tip!

I bought PS1 FAT with a broken CD Drive for only 14-15$ (lol) and just replace the entire broken SCPH-5502 CD Drive (KSM) using CD Drive (BAM) from the latest PSOne and it works like it's always been there. But yes, I needed to buy a laser ribbon extension because a cable from BAM too short for my PS1 FAT model.

I did the same thing because the only drives that work nowadays are the ones from the PSone's

It's easiest to base in on the main board type.
PU-7 and PU-8 machines used either KSM-440AAM or KSM-440ACM
PU-18 and PU-20 used KSM-440ADM
PU-20 and PU-22 used KSM-440AEM
PSone used KSM-440BAM
You can freely interchange KSM-440AAM, KSM-440ACM and KSM-440BAM because the cables are the same
The KSM-440AEM will fit in machines that took the KSM-440AAM/ACM/BAM, but not the other way around.
They are all interchangeable using adapter cables.
One thing to be aware of is that the later machines (PU-20, PU-22, PSone) are much more tolerant of bad pickups than the earlier ones - so it's quite possible that a pickup might work OK in something like a PSone but not work in a machine with a PU-7 or PU-8 board.
