Assemblergames.com going in 30 days

Post by danhans42 » May 30th, 2019, 10:52 pm

Thought this might be worth a mention here.

Seems that assemblergames.com will be no more by the end of June. It has looked like that has been on the cards for a while. I really do not want to get into a discussion about the way that site was run, or anything else speculative - thats not the point. The admin of the site has been very unresponsive to offers of selling the site or handing it over for others to run.

Point being there is quite a bit of useful information on there - and a lot of it has made its way onto here but I did think if anyone was bothered it could be worth archiving posts or data from there before it goes offline?

We'd just have to somehow backup the PSX development section. Most of the PlayStation guys from there however are now on this forum. We got Pool7, Trimesh and Jackhead so far. They were some of the top guys who were very useful to the scene with their knowledge as well as hardware and software sharing.
Development Console: SCPH-5502 with 8MB RAM, MM3 Modchip, PAL 60 Colour Modification (for NTSC), PSIO Switch Board, DB-9 breakout headers for both RGB and Serial output and an Xplorer with CAETLA 0.34.

PlayStation Development PC: Windows 98 SE, Pentium 3 at 400MHz, 128MB SDRAM, DTL-H2000, DTL-H2010, DTL-H201A, DTL-S2020 (with 4GB SCSI-2 HDD), 21" Sony G420, CD-R burner, 3.25" and 5.25" Floppy Diskette Drives, ZIP 100 Diskette Drive and an IBM Model M keyboard.
