My Introduction

Post by AnimeGeek32 » February 18th, 2013, 8:01 am

Hi, I am AnimeGeek32 and I just started programming for PS1 recently. I'm still experimenting with the SDK. Also, I donated to PSIO today to speed up its development. Although I don't own a debug PS1 yet, I plan to get it sometime. So, I'm testing my PS1 programs on an emulator. Hope to hear from everyone and contribute to this forum soon.

You don't need a debug PS1 to make games for the PlayStation 1. Don't even think about buying one, because it is a huge waste of money, and wont benefit you in anyway in that a modchip can.

All you need is a PS1 with a parallel port ('PIO Expansion' slot), PC running Windows (32-bit) and a PSX Blaster.

For a retail PS1 with a parallel port, I need it modded (if I could find it) and I am not a hardware modder. I need a system that can play burned CDs and imports. A debug PS1 (or PS2) on eBay would be my other option left.

You just need a modchip. Soldering one in is extremely easy. If you want though, you can buy a pre-modchipped PSX from me, as it is a lot cheaper this way that buying a debug PSX.

$15.00 for the PSX. Postage may be a bit though, so I can just send you the mainboard with the modchip soldered in.

I prefer Playstation as a whole. Also, I'm willing to pay shipping and packaging as long as the carrier is NOT USPS. I've had terrible experiences with them. So, either FedEx or UPS would be fine for me.
