Interesting (SDCard on PS2 via SIO)

Post by danhans42 » October 25th, 2018, 6:07 am

On looking into examples of other peripherals being hooked up to the playstation, I came across this..

Looks like someone has something working (at least as a proof of concept) on the PS2..

Wisi is awesome, probably the most knowledgable guy on PS2 internals at the moment!
He's investigating all kinds of "neat" things, also concerning the PSX.
If you're like me, hoping for a PSX mode compatible ISO reader or similar, he'd be the one to do it ;p

Anyway, it looks like this already evolved to load some games via OPL (but still hanging later on).
Adding an MCU could potentially fix this, and maybe improve speeds as well.

Nice find! :)
