Re: PSXNET Library - Connect the PlayStation to the Internet

Well as long as there arent ping limits for system link games, the latency shouldnt be a problem (at least for a poc lol). Ik the xbox 360 has ping limits to make it near impossible to use services like xlink kai, but i doubt sony even bothered back then to implement something like that. The handsha...

Re: PSXNET Library - Connect the PlayStation to the Internet

That would be a TON of work. It would be far more realistic to 'trick' existing system link games into playing online via lan tunneling and/or some sort of custom vpn for matchmaking....

Re: PSNee further development

This is why I always test out the drive in a console before I mod it to avoid headaches XD. I even test a cd-r (I have the PS-X-Change v2 boot disc) so I can make sure it reads those fine. That way if the laser needs any tweakage (or replacement) I can do it right off the bat instead of doing the mo...

Thanks for the explanation guys! I only had the main clock in mind. Didnt even think there were other clock inputs, carry on lol

Re: Flashable replacement for PS1 BIOS? (IC102)

H/o, i think ur mistaken. From my expreience with overclocking the CPU on a SCPH-9001 (NTSC US) the GPU normally operates at 33mhz and the GPU is in sync with it. When doubling the CPU clock speed by bypassing the frequency divider and feeding the original 66mhz signal the GPU falls out of sync bc i...

Re: UniROM V6 - New stuff and things.

Were you able to reflash them back to stock or anything else for that matter, using a hardmod or the timeswap trick to load up a flashing tool? Or were the carts just toast altogether?

Re: UniROM V6 - New stuff and things.

I haven't used Unirom or its flasher myself, but is there a way to force a flash when the chipset is unknown (BRICK RISK of course), but I'm just curious. For those who have cheap clones that won't autodetect, I'm wondering if they can force the flash process anyways and see what happens. Brick risk...

Re: MKPSXISO - A PlayStation ISO Maker to Replace BUILDCD

LameGuy64, is the source code for MKPSXISO open? If not, you could consider releasing it so other's could pick up where you left off seeing as you don't have much free time to work on it. Perhaps somebody else (not myself, I'm not that skilled lol) could whip up a GUI for this.

Re: PSNee further development

Thanks! Now that i have an over abundance of spare laser assemblies to work with, i will try that first. I honestly cant remember, if the initial white screen comes up ok, but ill check that. What you're saying actually makes sense, as i remember "back in the day" one could edit the black ...

Re: PSNee further development

Probably fixable. While you're technically correct, where this was a PU-23 board, the component in question was too small for my expertise or patience and where I have other boards lying around, I decided to chuck it lol. A quick update: The other "mystery board" ended up being a PU-18. T...

Re: PSNee further development

A quick update, I guess I'm rustier than I thought, just killed my PU-23 motherboard, by accidentally ripping off a SMT capacitor XD. Not to worry though, I have a spare console, just no idea what motherboard is in it, as it was apparently refurbished by someone else before I got it (model number st...

Re: PSNee further development

You don't need to cut any traces. You couldn't measure anything because of these things: - You probably had the line "NTSC_fix()" in it. This code waits for an event on the BIOS lines. If those aren't connected to a PAL PSOne BIOS, nothing will happen. DDRB = 0x00; delay(delay_ntsc); whil...

Re: PSNee further development

Has anyone managed to get this to run on a straight up Arduino Uno board? I tried the v6 code from assemblergames ages ago, but there was no digital logic going on at all (confirmed with a multimeter, checking for fluctuations on all points besides vcc and gnd, sorry i lack a proper oscilloscope). I...

Rama3 if you would like any additional mirrors, just say the word, i'd be more than happy to pitch in as far as hosting goes. I've been lurking in this thread since its inception and i'm pretty impressed with what everyone here is doing to keep the project alive :)

Re: Really old mod chips

Holy cow! I never realized 10-wire chips ever existed for the old psx. I always thought the first gen chips were the old 4-wire pic12's that spammed the sceX code indefinetely XD

Re: PSNee further development

In theory yes (for psx games anyways). PSX modchips can theoretically be adapted for the PS2 for loading psx backups, but has anybody actually successfully pulled it off? I don't know, but in theory, it "should" work .....

Re: UniROM V6 - New stuff and things.

Anyone familiar with a chinese device called a "Power Replay"? I picked one up at a local shot for $5. In the menu it says it's a "High Speed Golden Finger". I can get the disc to boot but it says it's unknown. card.jpg screen.jpg That's the Caetla rom with a little bit of editi...
