Re: XLinkUSB: USB cable for XPLORER cart
Just to add to this I have this working on the Arduino Leonardo and it works great so far. Just waiting for the console mode and if possible the pc fileserver mode and it's perfect. Great work Greg I have been waiting years for this. http://www.psxdev.net/forum/download/file.php?mode=view&id=980...

SIOCONS compatible USB Cable
This is a simple guide on how to make a SIOCONS compatible USB-SIO cable that works under dosbox. Its simple because I am rubbish at writing guides and howto's. Admin - if this needs moving to a better section by all means please do. Anyway.. down to business :-) You will need the following :- @ PSX...

Re: PSX Serial Cable
No you couldn't. The power for the circuit comes from the USB port of the connected computer. It isn't wired to take power from the PlayStation SIO port.

Re: Datel's VMEM Addon (other questions too)
If you want higher resolution pictures of it I can take some with my SLR, it does look like something custom as when I opened the hood to take the last pictures of it a quick search of the IC markings didn't turn anything up. I also have another type of phone interface cable which came with a japane...

Re: Datel's VMEM Addon (other questions too)
I have a Pocketstation, as well as the I-Mode cable which uses a pad port for serial communication to some Japanese mobile phones.
Is there anything in there for the imode cable?

Re: UniROM 0.2 [new menu, nocash unlock, fastboot]
Caetla has an inbuilt facility to launch EXEs from the memorycard too. Not sure if its as good as what Shendo coded but it always worked well for me

Re: UniROM 0.2 [new menu, nocash unlock, fastboot]
I upgraded my Xplorer to UniROM and just wanted to say what a cracking piece of work it is!
Last time I used cheats with Caetla I a 99% sure they are stored on a memory card. The plaintext stuff is converted using one of the caetla tools which you upload to the memorycard.

Re: PC Comms Link alternative?
All parts other than PCB are available on eBay, or check your local electronics supplier if you have one. Only thing you would need making up are the PCBs

Re: PC Comms Link alternative?
Look under projects/worknlogs there is a USB solution for this. Alternatively there is the freewing interface you can build to use a parallel port.
I have one of the original datel cards but I would advise against using one as they don't work on modern operating systems.

Re: CommLinkUSB
I'd love a decent dev board hanging off the back of a cart so could do code upload over ethernet or WiFi and doing away with cables altogether. Something like a raspberry pi or Edison board would be cool, would be like a ps1 tool almost :-) I've been experimenting with an esp8266 board on the serial...

Re: CommLinkUSB
Thanks Greg. These boards are very cheap, around £4 so would cut down the cost of making these adaptedlrs quite a bit, as the teensy and adafruit boards are around £17 here in the UK. I have the other parts in the mail so will be able to test it quite quickly. Look forward to giving it a whirl. Th...

Re: CommLinkUSB
Hi Greg Thanks for the reply, I believe this is the schematic for the board I have. http://www.psxdev.net/forum/download/file.php?id=638 Looking at it PE6 isnt used. PB0, PB1 and PB2 are available. PD0 through to PD7 are also available with the exception of PD5 which is wired up as a Tx LED. It also...

Re: CommLinkUSB
Fantastic work, I have been wanting a USB solution for years :-) Just have a quick question, Its probably no, but will ask anyway.. I already have a few ATMEGA AT32U4 based boards lying around, they go under the name AT32U4 Pro Micro.. Would it be possible to use one of these in lieu of the Adafruit...

Re: PS1 RGB/S-Video cable/output type questions
If you are wanting a very good quality cable I can recommend the Monster Scart Cable. I have one, its gold plated, oxygen free copper, and very heavy duty cable. The quality is fantastic. Hard to come by nowadays though. Also there is the IXOS one as can be found on this website.. £102 is a wee bit...

Re: [TUTORIAL] Catflap and Caetla on Windows XP
PSEXE definitely doesnt work under XP, it requires direct port access which XP prohibits.
CATFLAP works okay with the old driver they originally wrote too but the CPU utilization is huge..
PSEXE only works on DOS or in a DOS shell under 95/98/ME.
