I think that's the area where stuff is drawn to display.
So you cannot use that area to store any textures, as they get overwriten.
If you change display resolution you can see that size of those areas changes also.

You don't need to use an Xplorer though - any fake cartridge flashed with it will work so you can make a dedicated system. Yep, that's why i got some old GameSharks. But someday i will make that boot work properly, even if i have to write whole damn thing in asm :evil: (too bad i don't know much asm)

Graphics are low priority at my list, as that lcd is main display in this project. Top priority now is to get that software boot from cartridge. That .psx version is compressed .exe with ByteKiller. Took half of size away.

Do you have audio-cd in psx when you sent program, it should work without one and ask to insert cd.
