Re: Question about rare Dual Analog-controller
Okay, second set of photos, this time with the second controller on the middle. Re: Question about rare Dual Analog-controller
Sorry about the delay, I couldn't examine and take photos of the controllers over the weekend, but now I'm working on it. This is the first set of photos, taken from that circle-axle model of SCPH-1180 Dual Analog-controller. SCPH-1180 - Round Axle Analog Pads, Part 1, propably earlier revision Thes...

Re: Question about rare Dual Analog-controller
No, I didn't notice any lag. Or do you mean that ugly 500 cycle delay being needed in the serial transfer? You'll never notice that with the offical kernel - since it's always using that even bigger delay with more than 2000 cycles - no matter what kind of controller you have connected. It's only a...

Nope, Dual Shock 2 (PS2) had that written on the front side next to the cable output. PS1 Dual Shocks only read Analog Controller on the back.

TheShadowRunner wrote:Strange, I own a Sony Analog Controller SCPH-1200, rev A (as written on the backlabel), made in japan, and if anything, I feel it's actually more reactive (less lag) than any other PSX pad i've tested, including the DualShock.
SCPH-1200 is a regular Dual Shock.

Re: Question about rare Dual Analog-controller
I've been playing some games with Dual Analog for a while and I'm curious, that did you notice any lag with them, compared to regular Dual Shock ? I have a feeling, that they have design issues in terms of hardware. You mentioned something about that input delay, so that's correct ?

Re: Question about rare Dual Analog-controller
Yes, more pictures or part numbers would be great! Yup, I've meanwhile figured out that there are a bunch of revisions for various analog/digital pads, this page has some (lowres) PCB photos: http://www.slagcoin.com/joystick/pcb_wiring.html#PCB_DIAGRAMS for different models (if your browser doesn't...

Re: Question about rare Dual Analog-controller
That was bit heavy reading, but thanks from this information. :) And yes, it was a typo from me, I meant 1180 obviosly. Now, since I bought that one controller, I've managed to get two more, so I now have three 1180's. I put them all apart, washed the cases and the buttons and changed new membrane r...

Controller revisions
I recently bought two more Dual Analog controllers alongside consoles. I opened them up to wash the plastic parts and replaced the membrane switches for new ones, so basic servicing. I discovered, that the previous Dual Analog I have was different in terms of analog pad mechanisms. There is two sort...

Re: PS1 reverb
The reverb is a feature of the Sound chip in the PS1, it is internal to the soundchip and I doubt it can be altered using external stuff. The programmer can choose to use the reverb or not, and tweak it using values. So, unless you modify the internal sound program of the game, I doubt you can do a...

Re: PS1 reverb
PSIO wouldn't be causing it, but it sounds like a problem with your PlayStation. A sound chip could be faulty or capacitor could be failing. It could also just be your audio settings on your amplifier or TV :shrug I dunno, that how much difference there is with those soundchips between the consoles...

PS1 reverb
Yes, opening another topic, this time because just of an interest concidering the PS1 audio chipset. Now, I've recently played some games and noticed, that they contain a lot of reverb, that makes the sound ''hum'' too much with my audio equipment (just a good soundbar and no any effects on that). I...

Re: GameShark, Action Replay & Pro Comms Link pictures
How about Gran Turismo 2 - Arcade Mode (PAL-M5) ? There was some codes, but only for the Arcade Mode, and I was looking for the Simulation Mode. But I found one place for those and at least money code worked: http://pupik-gt2.tripod.com/codes/index.htm Trouble with most of those code sites is that ...

Nice pages, thanks. But just as I predicted, I couldn't find any codes for Gran Turismo 2. Oh well, gotta search more.

Re: GameShark, Action Replay & Pro Comms Link pictures
Yeah it's useless except for using it as a cheat cartridge really. No that cable won't work. Err, that information is false. Allright, thanks again, gotta just manually apply the codes to it then and hope that it works. Tried some codes with Medievil, but couldn't get it working. Gotta test out mor...

Re: GameShark, Action Replay & Pro Comms Link pictures
1) Should do. 2) Yes but you need a FreeWing or a CommsLink ISA Card. 3) You should be able to put CAETLA, but it'll be useless for PC comms. Thanks Shadow, much appreciated. So basically, it's useless thing nowadays, I can't just buy CommsLink USB cable or anything like that to be used with that ?...

Re: Best laser lens for Playstation?
I need to lift this topic, since I have some thoughts about lasers. I recently ordered two different laser units, one brand new chinese copy, KSM-440BAM and another one, that's genuie good shaped original one, KSM-440ADM (pulled out from NTSC-J console, 5500-series). I read somewhere, that lasers in...

Re: What port would you most like to see on PSX?
Some Nintendo games would be neat to have on the console. I would be more than pleased to get Super Mario All-Star + Super Mario World-bundle working in PS1. SNES stuff shouldn't be too hard to port.

Re: Wobbling disk
Update: I took the reader apart and cleaned the parts with turpentine, since it's oil based mild cleaning product, that does not harm plastic parts. I discovered, that the reader is bad quality one, the CD spindle plate was not straight and the gears were not either on the laser moving unit. I had p...
