If you change the Start - End values, an FMV is playing!

Re: [Diagram]SCPH-1000/3000 PU-7 MM3 Stealth Install
The other difference is that the SCPH-xxx3 models use the same 7.5IRE black level that NTSC:U/C consoles do, rather than the 0IRE level used in Japan. I never understood the impact of the different IRE levels when it comes to consoles. For instance if a JPN system and US system were connected to th...

Re: Question about rare Dual Analog-controller
Oh, ok, I thought these had 'Dual Shock' written on the back label, not 'Analog Controller'.

Re: Question about rare Dual Analog-controller
Strange, I own a Sony Analog Controller SCPH-1200, rev A (as written on the backlabel), made in japan, and if anything, I feel it's actually more reactive (less lag) than any other PSX pad i've tested, including the DualShock.

Re: Getting best possible RGB picture out of PS1
I've never thought about that, but it makes sense... if the composite encoding/decoding takes some extra time, then composite picture would be moved towards right, or the other way around: RGB picture would be moved towards left? So that's why! I've always wondered why the slight difference. Yes yo...

Re: Getting best possible RGB picture out of PS1
The slight horizontal position shift when using RGB versus composite is completely normal and happens with all consoles, don't worry about it.

Re: MKPSXISO - A PlayStation ISO Maker to Replace BUILDCD
Currently, I just don't have time to work on such a tool as my free time is prioritized for art or continuing development of my very own 3D engine for the PSX especially when I have a full-time job now so I don't have much free time as I used to. I've been considering making such a tool to supplant...

Re: Getting best possible RGB picture out of PS1
They are indeed indestructible and rather hard to open cleanly, but it's totally doable.
Since I'll never use composite video, I thought I might as well modify the cable rather than the system..

Re: Getting best possible RGB picture out of PS1
If anyone's interested, I modified the original Sony PS1 RGB Cable (EURO-AV as they call it), to replace Composite by Luma-Sync. Here's what it looks like.

Re: MKPSXISO - A PlayStation ISO Maker to Replace BUILDCD
I don't have plans to make a GUI version of MKPSXISO at the moment as it is not really important considering how simple putting together a build script using the included example script as a base is a piece of cake. I beg to differ, while it's clearly not hard putting together a script, a GUI would...

[Wanted] SCPH-1000 (JPN) motherboard dead or alive
Hey all, I'm looking to purchase a working or dead (doesn't matter) SCPH-1000 JPN motherboard. The reason is I wish to salvage the JPN BIOS chip v1.0 (first BIOS revision released to market). If you have such a motherboard, or even better the JPN BIOS chip v1.0 alone, please reply here or contact by...
