Re: Noticed a co processor
Andy Gavin was talking about the GTE on the R3000A which was fast at doing vector based calculations. In the early SDK from Sony/SN Systems when Crash 1 was being developed, there was no strong documentation surrounding it so one of the guys at Sony shared how it worked on a little scrap of paper. T...

Re: Compiling RUNIX (PSXLinux)
I've never used UniRom. I prefer Lameguy's n00bROM
Just try it in an emulator for now. I recommend NO$PSX or DuckStation. In the latest build of NO$PSX, you can finally enable 8 MB RAM too which is awesome (while DuckStation has had it just after launch if I recall).

Re: Psy-Q lib.c issues
Very nice research! So it's not exactly bugged for small segments. It's only when trying to free large blocks it fails to then re-allocate them when it then returns 0 and -1 as failure flags. I can't remember which library (maybe LIBETC.LIB) has malloc2 and malloc3 in it, but here is library 4.7 for...

Re: PSX BIOS from PSP 6.60 optimised to play games more smoothly - but in what way?
Honestly, the only bug that might have fixed is the infamous 'malloc' bug. What is a infamous malloc bug? Never heard about that, and I didn't notice any such bug when disassembling the kernel. Sony's malloc function in the kernel had a problem where the memory wasn't free 'd correctly. It's mentio...

Re: Compiling RUNIX (PSXLinux)
Controller port would be way too slow. You'd want to use the parallel port to take full advantage of the Ethernet speeds, but it depends what you'd want to do with it. The best and easiest solution would be to just use the serial port with a modem.

There is an option in NO$PSX to change or force from PAL to NTSC. Try switching it.

Remove that wire instantly and install a new fuse properly. There's a reason why the fuses are in place.

Re: Net Yaroze Boot Disc (Cracked) for SIOCONS.exe
Shadow , yes, the Access Card verification codes on the European and Japanese discs are different. Of course they would be. The program is ran from memory at a completely different location, but my confusion was that the codes I had in my original post were in fact for the Japanese disc (when it tu...

Okay, I was incorrect. You do need to add the '0x' prefix for it to work

CTRL+G to jump to an address in NO$PSX and enter the address as hexadecimal without the leading '0x' prefix.

Re: Net Yaroze Boot Disc (Cracked) for SIOCONS.exe
Ok so that means that if I use an action replay and input the following gameshark codes : 8006FF90 0000 8006FF92 0000 8006FF88 0000 8006FF8A 0000 I will be able to use the japanese boot disk (DTL-S3030) on my net yaroze ? Sorry if I am being insistant, I want to be sure before buying the net yaroze...

Re: Net Yaroze Boot Disc (Cracked) for SIOCONS.exe
It works under NO$PSX because the image I uploaded is cracked already. Also, the Gameshark codes are the offset in memory where the check takes place (that's assuming they are infact the codes for the Japanese disc).

The PS-EXE in the disc image is Japanese licensed, so I assume it will be Japanese based.

Re: PSOne Restart itself
Quite an interesting problem. I want to say it's probably power supply related. There might be a short on the drive mechanics somewhere which causes it to brownout and restart. I see My first suspicious was the power supply cuz when i put the PSone upside down it start to accept the disk and boot :...
