Re: Hi folks!

Hey hello and welcome!

When you mention that old school PISS emulator, do you mean that CD that was doing the rounds with the master system emulator on it? Think that was released by a team called 'PISS' or something.

Anyway welcome :0)

ESP8266 Wifi Experiments

Have been meaning to have a go at this for a while, just never really got around to it. As you will probably know, Espressif make the popular ESP8266 and ESP32, the former was launched as a simple Wifi -> Serial bridge that could be controlled with a slightly modified version of the Hayes AT command...

Re: Xplorer/Xploder Communication Protocoll (Upload File)

I know this is digging up an old thread (sorry), just my intereest in this seems to get re-ignited every six months or so. How feasable would it be to implement the above like greg did with xlinkusb but for the standard firmware? I have been having a look at was thinking that with it being designed ...

Re: PSX Blaster (USB Comms Link)

I have asked Greg if he is still intending to work on it, as I last spoke to him over a year ago. I would love this to get some traction.. we have other devices these days such as the ESP32 which has Wifi and Bluetooth, as well as supporting upto 4/8mb PSRAM.. could have a simple webserver for EXE u...

Re: PSXSERIAL USB Cables

Hi, No they do not work with the Yaroze tools - the cable works with all the other tools (psxserial and shendo's tools etc) This requires the handshaking lines connecting up (RTS/CTS/DTR/DSR) and the signal inverting. I do have one of these cables but I use this myself so its not for sale. They cost...

Think Shadow said that it wasnt being developed any more. There are two USB solutions, I have a xplorerusb that uses an atmega32u4. Solution for the Action Replay :- https://github.com/gpoteau/CommLinkUSB Solution for the Xplorer/Xploder :- https://github.com/gpoteau/XLinkUSB I use the xplorer versi...

Re: Trouble getting Siocons connected to PC

I have a Sharklink cable but never managed to get it to work with SIOCONS. Easiest method I found was going down the full USB-Serial route and running the Yaroze tools in DOSBOX. This works perfectly for me. (There is some info on how to do this with a PSone in the link in my signature if you cant f...

Re: PSXSERIAL USB Cables

Is any cables available for sell? Hi, I do still have cables for sale. Depends where you are located, there are a few places I will not ship to (South America, Russia and some Middle Eastern countries). If not, like Lameguy said, you can build one very easily. A cheap USB UART is around $3 USD and ...

DIY Joypad using Arduino or some other MCU

Hi All, I know there are quite a few projects around that use PS1/PS2 joypads for control, probably due to the protocol being reversed and the quality of the joypads. My question is, has anyone ever achieved this the other way around? Does anyone know of any examples of someone actually making a PS1...

Re: PSXNET Library - Connect the PlayStation to the Internet

They use a series of AT commands to control them, with the default firmware. There are alternative firmwares such as esplink which use a webpage to handle the connection and then transparently pass the serial data straight through. Ive tried this with psxserial mapping a com port to an IP address bu...

Re: PSXNET Library - Connect the PlayStation to the Internet

This is great work I am currently playing around with an ESP8266 connected to my PSX and getting it working how I want is a serious test of my very very basic programming skills. The ESP uses 3.3v so can easily be powered from the PSX itself, and the ESP01 modules are very small. Ideally I would lik...

PSXSERIAL USB Cables

I have been selling these for quite a few years from my own website, which I haven't updated in years. Anyway, if anyone is looking for a PSXSERIAL USB cable give me shout. Re: Net Yaroze info magazine scan

I think I still have that very magazine somewhere. I remember reading it age 16 and wanting a Yaroze.. and then saw the price.

So I gave up on that and built the serial cable, and then moved on to the Xplorer+Caetla as soon as Caetla supported the Xplorer (v0.33 iirc).

Great scans :-)

psxsdk Caetla/Catflap issue

Hi All, Does anyone use psxsdk with catflap/caetla? It does just do that, I also believe it records the amount of times each video has been played to a memory card. I havent seen that myself but I saw that information somewhere else. I will get some pics up of the device that came with it too. Its made by a British company that I believe used to be a...
