Re: Audio problems on original Japanese PSX

In this case I would try reflowing the SPU (heating up the solder on ic legs and try to fix any bad connections. If that doesn't do the trick I would reball it (completely desolder the ic, clean it and the area around it up and resolder it cleanly). Its a lot if work but given how cheap psx's are th...

Re: Audio problems on original Japanese PSX

I'm also in the US. I could attempt the repair for you shipping would be cheaper that way at least and less time to wait (no customs etc). EDIT: You would just have to pay for shipping both ways. These consoles are a dime a dozen these days to replace so its not really worth charging you anything fo...

Re: [RPG] Zia and the Goddesses of Magic

Orion, I'm impressed, still making commercial games for the PS1, now that's some serious dedication, holy cow. I know every now and again a new Dreamcast game comes out, but didn't realize anyone was still releasing anything but straight up free homebrew for the ps1/psx etc. That's awesome, keep up ...

My PSNee Adventure Begins...

Okay everyone, so for those of you who are wondering what the PSNee is, its an open source arduino based stealth modchip for the psx/ps1/psone. It was not created by me, all credit goes to the original author which can be found here: http://assemblergames.com/l/threads/psnee-a-stealth-modchip-for-al...

NCSX has Net Yaroze's for sale

I hope this is the appropriate section. I'm not selling this at all myself and as much as I'd love to add one of these to my own collection, as a college student, there's no way I could really afford to spend this type of money on a "fun" item. I thought others here with more expendable cash would l...

The CAETLA rom will allow you to bypass region locks, as well as any other swapping method for that matter if you're not comfortable with soldering

Console I Received Was a Different Model Than Expected (ebay

Hey everyone, So I was expecting to receive an scph-7501 from a seller on ebay and was excited because I have a goldfinger cartridge lying around that works, which would hold me over until I can (hopefully) get my hands on a PS-IO. Well it turns out the seller was mistaken and the console is a 9001 ...

Re: Compiling Runix

Hey all, Not to bump an ancient thread, but I find this to be really interesting and didn't want to post yet another thread. Anybody with experience with linux and/or the psx hardware want to help me make this usable? I'm pretty good with linux, but I'm new to programming on the psx/amiga MIPS archi...

Introduction

Hey everyone, I've been a lurker of these forums and the PSIO project for quite a while now. I'm a licensed Wii U developer but am looking to do some unofficial psx homebrew dev in my spare time simply because well, why not!!??? I really enjoy programming and also messing around with hardware in gen...
