Re: [WTB] DTL-H2000 RGB Cable

If you want an RGB SCART cable, there are high quality fully shielded options these days.

This Website page has instructions and links on where to find them:

Re: [WTB] NTSC Video Oscillator

You can find these oscillators on aliexpress. they're much bigger though, but you can glue the oscillator to the rf shield and route the wires through to where you hook up the signal. Here's an example of how I do oscillator mods on PS1s: https://retrofreedom.com/ps1dfo.html NOTE: It's not exactly 5...

Re: [Hardware Mod] NTSC/PAL reference oscillator mod for PU-18

hey there :) I have a similar tutorial on my website. How to have dual 53.2 and 53.69mhz GPU clocks for correct PAL and NTSC timings. https://retrofreedom.com/ps1dfo.html BY THE WAY: On PU-22 boards and up, colour subcarrier is fixed regardless of oscillator fix. You also therefore need to mess with...

Re: Forcing NTSC mode in BIOS on SCPH-1002 PU-8 PAL PS1 (with the older 160-pin GPU)

NoCash specs say this (see: https://problemkaputt.de/psx-spx.htm) - I only connected pins 3 and 4. I'm curious: does the onechip actually analyse instructions going through or... is it just a timer (so are pins 2 and 7 clock signals? I'm gonna find out!) NTSC-Boot BIOS Patch Typically connects to tw...

Re: Forcing NTSC mode in BIOS on SCPH-1002 PU-8 PAL PS1 (with the older 160-pin GPU)

starting new post due to different subtopic... The reason I'm wanting to do this is because with the oscillator changed, PAL subcarrier will no longer be correct (but NTSC one will). I guess I *could* lift cxa1645m's pin 6 and 7, pull pin 7 high and hook up either: * pin 6 via 3.58mhz oscillator. ak...

Forcing NTSC mode in BIOS on SCPH-1002 PU-8 PAL PS1 (with the older 160-pin GPU)

Hi, I want to do this but can't seem to find the info anywhere online, not even pinouts. My aim is to do what the OneChip does on PAL PS1 slim, whereby it forces the BIOS into NTSC mode. The reason I wish to do this is because I want to hardwire NTSC mode on the CXA1645M video encoder by lifting pin...

PS1 for sale with PSIO module. Play games from SD card!

Hi everyone :) A PSIO arrived in the mail the other day. Have a look at this video I did where I install the switchboard for it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5NFeHQo2lo (also see photo below of the finished result) I'm selling this on https://minifree.org/ if anyone is interested. The PSIO is a ...

Re: chipped PS1 and PS2 consoles for sale via minifree.org (and PS1 PSIO installs)

I see. So it's just a bunch of pricks ripping people off. I'd stick with the official PSIO product anyway. While I have some dislikes of the author (judging from the tone of some of the things he writes on his website), the PSIO is *awesome* BTW, I actually ordered a PSIO but forgot. It arrived a fe...

well that can only be a good thing, if it brings the price down. actually, i totally forgot that i ordered one ages ago. when tidying, i found the sheet for the customs charge... for a purchase from cybdyne systems :S so im going to my local depot to collect my PSIO today. i'll probably do a video o...

Mod HOWTOs: clean CSYNC (better RGB quality) and dual PAL/NTSC oscillators (fixes TV compatibility)

Hey everyone :) I'll get right into it. All of the information here is based on my reading the PS1 hardware schematics and from doing my own signal analysis (multi-meter and scope) NOTE: dual PAL/NTSC oscillator fixes vsync timings on both PAL and NTSC. On PAL console you cut trace to 208-pin GPU's ...

EDIT: ignore the stuff below. I decided to make a dedicated new post instead: see http://www.psxdev.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=3554 hey there, bumping this thread because i see some iffy info in it. Here's how to do csync on ps1: on older GPU on very first pu7/pu8 boards just grab csync from...

Re: chipped PS1 and PS2 consoles for sale via minifree.org

i find the homepage of psio really annoying though. right now it says: PSIO is a Flash Cartridge that plugs into your PlayStation’s Parallel I/O Port. It allows you to instantly see your games running from an SD Card on real hardware making it the only way to genuinely play backups on your console...

Re: chipped PS1 and PS2 consoles for sale via minifree.org

I can also do PSIO installs.... though there will be a delay because now I have to order some from australia :) also the PSIO doesn't work on all PS1s. only the ones with the parallel slot. i've been interested in researching the ps1 hardware and to find a way to get something like psio on later mod...

chipped PS1 and PS2 consoles for sale via minifree.org (and PS1 PSIO installs)

HI everyone, I'm relatively new to the scene. Recently I've been modding PS1s and PS2s I sell them here: https://minifree.org/consoles/ PS2s have the modbo4 modchip allowing to play burned CD-R/DVD-R games PS1s have the 8wire MM3 modchip aswell as: CSYNC mod, dual PAL/NTSC oscillators for correct PA...
