Re: [DEMO] Hello, EVOKE PSX!
I tried it on ePSXe, and indeed, the emulator crashes. With PCSXR, works fine.

Weird, it works on retail hardware, since we recorded it on my PS1.

Re: DTL-H2000 CD Software Emulation : Possible ?
Interesting. I'l give it a shot when I have time. As long as I can use my DTL-H2000 without CD emulator, while keeping good audio quality, then I'm good. I think I saw something about SPU streaming in the official docs, but maybe my memory isn't good. I'll check that too. As for no$psx, I'll try, bu...

Re: DTL-H2000 CD Software Emulation : Possible ?
Oh okay didn't understand that in that way. What I want to achieve is more CD-DA uncompressed for playing a music. Unless I can play a full length track over SPU without CD decoding, with sufficient quality, then I guess my way to go is to burn CD with the track I want to play and use Caetla. I don'...

Re: DTL-H2000 CD Software Emulation : Possible ?
I've been digging and searching for stuff. To be clear, incase of misunderstanding : I want to be able to load an audio file (XA) the debug way without an emulator. Then when I build it for CD, it will be rewritten for that media. The CD Emulator seems to have been optional (especially since you can...

DTL-H2000 CD Software Emulation : Possible ?
HEYYYYYY My setup is mostly good, close to perfection. But I have 1 problem : I cannot play CD XA tracks. I don't have the official Playstation CD Emulator, and my debugger keeps saying that the "tray" is open. My question is : is it possible to emulate CD streaming with the DTL-H2000 wit...

Hello, EVOKE PSX !

I made a TMD file, what's next ?
Hello there, long time no see ! Yup, it's been quite a long time since I didn't post anything here, but I want to finally work on a new PSX project ! Long story short, I'm into the demoscene now ! :dance But it's been YEARS since I touched code. Anyway ! For my new project, I want to be able to loa...

Re: Sony DTL-H2000 Troubleshooting, Info, Setup, Parts & Help
Also, what are the pin DC OUT ? and pin AV-22k ? Can I wire one of those as +5V to enable auto switch on the TV side For AV-22k, I don't know. It is possible that it serves the "Function Switching (pin 8)" of SCART (4:3 or 16:9 mode switching) I did not test that out, so might be wrong. A...

Re: Is it possible to debug PS1 code with an XPlorerFX ?
No it's not what I meant. I mean REMOTE debugging with such boards as the PSY-Q one that went into the parallel port of a blue unit : https://www.retroreversing.com/official-playStation-devkit My question is : is there a possibility to replicate HARDWARE REMOTE debugging ? Also, if possible, using t...

Is it possible to debug PS1 code with an XPlorerFX ?
Hello there, long time no see ! While researching for PS1 dev kit, I came across the PSY-Q debugger hardware that plugs into the parallel port of a debug PS1 unit. Since for my code I use an XPlorerFX (flashed with caetla), is it possible to debug code with this ? Like in CodeWarrior, having the abi...

[Solved] How to setup PS1 on WinXP ??
Hello right there, let me explain. I've used, for quite a while, my Windows 98 SE computer to work on PS1 dev. But for the sake of my setup, I wanted to try an old Windows XP setup. Here's my problem : After installing and testing the compilers, I wanted to run the thing on my PS1, using the Xplorer...

Re: [Game] PSXPONG - A small pong to test PSY-Q stuff
For now I'm more in a "learning" stage, and I don't take PS1 dev really seriously.
Also, Orion's SDK (I would say shortcuts) are Psy-Q compatible, since I did it with Psy-Q I guess.

Re: Is it worth it to make programs in full assembly ?
Interesting ! Well, I think, for ps1 only, that it can be worth it to try making a simple program in full MIPS assembly, something that already exists. Of course, since we can handle C on PS1, why ignore it ? That is way easier than assembly. It's just that I thought about snes/genesis games made in...

Is it worth it to make programs in full assembly ?
Sorry if the question is already asked, but I want to know if it is worth it (or have some kind of benefits) to make programs and games 100% in MIPS assembly, and how to do it.
Thanks for taking the time of reading a stupid question lol

Thanks !
I used sprites to practice how to use them, so might be overkill but make me learn the good stuff.
For now I don't have much time to work on ps1 dev, but I'll post anything new

[Game] PSXPONG - A small pong to test PSY-Q stuff
Hello right there ! It's been a crazy long time since I came here. I started PSX developement a while, and I have finally been able to burn on a disc source code and the game ! I'm working on this kind of desktop : - Windows 98SE - AMD CPU 1GHz (don't know the cpu lol) - 1GB of RAM - the PSY-Q SDK -...

[Alternatively solved] Catflap error "kernel-mode I/O access unavailable" on Win98SE
I finally received my db25 cable, and decided to test like catflap reset the ps1 but I got this error. Any help ?
EDIT : "solved" that by using psexe.com and it works fine now.
