Re: What are the signals int and sas?
Hum having a differential signal is quite interesting, perharps they where thinking on faster MCs... I have order a Dualshock 2 to do some testing, I was planing to put some tape ok BC and run GTA:VC, if my memory recalls correctly it uses the analogue feature on Dualshock 2 buttons to accelerate ca...

Re: What are the signals int and sas?
Ok on the PSX that pin is "chassis ground" and SASx doesn't exist also on the official Dualshock 1 that pin is NC, hence I still think that this pin is used somehow for compatibility between PSX and PS2. On PS2 IOP SAS0 -> Is connected to the Dualshock port 1 and it is pulled up. SAS1 -> I...

Re: What are the signals int and sas?
Pin 8 (INT) is the interrupt line which is only used by lightguns mainly, but perhaps some special PS2 devices may use it too. No idea what SAS is. That terminology isn't used. http://www.psxdev.net/forum/download/file.php?mode=view&id=279&sid=8b3ffa8ee8bc019b05e3461de1a1a071 Thanks for you...

What are the signals int and sas?
Hi, I am being checking the service manuals for the psx and PS2 in order to try to fix my old PS2. I have seen that no one mention the signals SAS and INT since they are not used by the DualShock. I would like to know if there is any periferic that use them and what are they for. Btw the SAS signal ...

Re: Can anyone tell me how the Xploder works?
hum, I just realized that the PSX supports multi-threading so perhaps that is the part that I was missing.... if I can assume that there is no memory protection between threads it would be fairly easy to manipulate other thread variables....

Can anyone tell me how the Xploder works?
Hi everyone, I being reading for awhile about how a PSX cheat cartridge actually works but there is some parts that I not fully understand. I think that I am right to suppose that the PSX Bios checks if the string "Licensed by Sony Computer Entertainment Inc." is present at 0x1F000004 and ...

Re: PSX game port
Ok my mistake the pin 8 on the controller is connected to the hardware interruption 10. DSR0 is the ACK line so a complete port mapping would look like: 1 -> RXD/RXD.0 2 -> TXD/TXD.0 3 -> 7.2V 4 -> GND 5 -> 3.3V 6 -> ATT/CE/DTR0x (Left Port -> x = A or Right Port -> x = B) 7 -> CLK/SCK0 8 -> IRQ10/I...

PSX game port
Hello Everyone, I am trying to understand how the PSX game port works and more or less I have reached a point that I have an idea. However in every place that I have read, I have seen that the pin 8 is not connected which actually from the psx perspective this is not true. That pint is connected to ...
