Re: Reverse Engineering the PSX Copy Protection (Wobble Groove)

A crazy idea came to me last night, sorry if it has already been discussed and dismissed, but... would it be possible to recreate the wobble groove in a printed circular hologram, to be applied like an adhesive to the cd's TOC area? That's a clever idea. I'm honestly not sure. The problem is the tr...

Re: [DOWNLOAD] CD-ROM (HC05) Firmware Dumps

Correct. If you can emulate the HC05, then you can run these ROM dumps and you'll have 100% accurate HC05 emulation. That's what NO$CASH did and it works really well :)

Re: BIOS transplant from Debugging Station (DTL-H1000) to consumer PSX

You don't want to swap the BIOS. You want the HC05. That's where the security is, but don't do that because there is no point. Just use a modchip. You'll ruin a DTL-H1000 for nothing by swapping it.

Calibrate the laser. It does that usually if the voltage is too high.

No, sounds like something failing in CD-ROM subsystem (servo mechanics, door/lid sensor or integrated circuits).

Re: Creating a PS1 image from a Net Yaroze game

I'll try and convert it in a few weeks. My Windows 98 computer is unplugged at the moment since I needed the desk space. I will re-connect it soon and then try and convert "Little Wing" for you. I'll send you a private message if I get it done :)

Re: Question about loading TIM files

There's examples on these forums on how to load TIM files. As for loading them from the CD, there are examples on how to load data on the forums too. Sony even has examples in their SAMPLES directory. To build a CD-ROM image, there is an example under the 'Help' section.

Re: Website Updates and News

The forum software (phpBB) was updated to V3.3.4 (the latest version publicly available). The PHP backend was also updated to V7.4.7. The results are improved security (there should also be no more spam bots) and faster speeds (due to the major PHP update). All plugins were also updated. :null: Dat...

Looks really good! I'll have to give it a try :)

EDIT: Gave it a try. Works fine, but the gameplay is slow. Would be nice if it ran super smooth or you had an option for that, but I guess you tried to replicate the same feeling as the original Snake game on the old Nokia mobile/cell phones ;)

Hello everyone, today I have this problem but I know what it is and why but I don't know how to solve it, here I explain myself As you know, FNTPRINT () is used to paint the letters on the screen, but as you will also know, the ps1 font is with the US alphabet in English, so logically it has fewer ...

Re: Question about SPCH-1000 PSU

You can't switch a PSU from a 1000 to a 1002. The 1000 runs at 110VAC whereas the 1002 runs at 220VAC.
