Re: 2.4 GHz Perils
So I guess you don't know? Am I really the only idiot in the world that has ever wanted to use two wireless controllers on a PlayStation? I appreciate the help you've gave me so far, and I admire you work (I actually chose a 5501 because you use a 5502), but if you don't like my questions then to he...

2.4 GHz Perils

Re: Electrical Question
I removed the one in red and the one above it. I want to solder the points where those two used to be soldered onto the controller/memory card board to the metal plate your holding in the first picture.

Re: Electrical Question
There are spots on the back of the controller port board that were soldered to the sheet metal around the controller port assembly. I assumed that was for a ground. I want to know if I can use the metal plate above the mother board and under the laser assembly as the ground that I removed from the c...

Electrical Question
I'm going to install wireless internal wireless controller receivers and memory cards in my PlayStation. This question may be stupid, but I'd figure I'd run it by the people that more about the PlayStation and electricity than me. I removed the board from the controller/memory port and want to know ...

Another PS1 and RGB Question
Most American CRT broadcast monitors have RGB inputs on the back using BNC connectors. To use that with the PlayStation, would I place resistors and capacitors in the same places as they would be in a SCART "AV MULTI OUT" cable?

Best PAL Only Game?
I fitted my 5501 with a MM3 and haven't tried a PAL game on it yet. I'm sure I'll some video problems that I'll have to solve.
Anyway, I'm looking for a recommendation for the best PAL only game.

RPG Maker?
Does anyone have any games they made with the PlayStation version of RPG Maker? I was thinking of making a game with it but I'm hesitant to put a lot of work into something that only I'll be able to play. What would be the easiest way to share those games with each other? I don't really want to get ...

1988 RCA Dimensia
I got a '88 Dimensia. It's the only TV I know of in my hemisphere that has a SCART input, though it's called an "EAI MULTIPORT - STEREO". Oddly enough it'll take video but the audio does not work on that input, though that's not my main concern. The difference between the RCA component cab...

Re: "Audiophile" Question
It might be a vestigial tendency from the days of the vinyl player. If what he did was to a vinyl record player it would give better sound quality. The same principle of selecting a tone wood on a guitar.
That's my theory on his theory.

Future Proof Laser
When I replace my laser assembly, I want it to be the last laser that will ever have to put in my PlayStation. What pieces fail first and what can we do to future proof our CD drives? The only think I can think of at the moment is the plastic pieces wearing down. That's a pretty easy fix I think if ...

"Audiophile" Question
Is anyone brave enough to explain the physics of this? I've seen multiple instances on the web of people doing this and I'm extremely skeptical.

Bios Question
I can't find any information about the BIOS, really. I just want to know if it is *nix related. I guess we'll find out in 2038.
